In reality Sony are bringing a bunch of new IPs in 2015. Let's talk about the gameplay and quality of those new IPs.
If they sell well that will be great and we should assess whether 2015 is the year of the PS4 after they actually deliver the games that make them worthy of that title.
Simply put this is an excuse and an opinion not a fact.
The fact is this hardware is well understood in general. With the PS3, there was an issue learning how to maximize the PS3 cell architecture and wrestling with blu-ray, but in this generation, all the consoles are essentially PCs based on the same overall architecture. And the manufacturers both use very well understood API sets that are tried and tested so in reality this generation will probably peak much earlier tha...
I don't think they are jumping on these people too badly. It is obvious from their gamer pics and comment history that most have never ever liked or played Halo to begin with.
But, I must say that the comments so far on this article do lack substance. (From both sides).

You are correct... The Wii is not in the same league as the PS4...
It was the fastest ever selling console in the first year. The PS4 does not compare nor did it even come close.

How many articles have Sony fans got approved on this site about game resolution when everyone knows the current state? Didn't Sony execs and marketing often post their own comments about 1080p over and over again over the past year? And remember the great disc sharing video Sony made about...

Sony's PS and MS' XB brands are here to stay. They are both billion dollar businesses for both companies.
In Sony's case this is the only profitable hardware business they are still in...
In MS' case, the console is the strongest presence they have in the home outside of Windows and Office.

It doesn't matter what you think the Wii was. It sold 20m in the first year and that makes it the best ever first year console. Just because they had a different price point does not make it any less a console. Neither does the market that bought it...
As stated in the article you obviously did not read the Wii sold 20 million in its first year.
The Wii was out of this world. The PS4 didn't even come close.
Whether u believe VGC or not, it is still great sales for the PS4 for its first year!

As for game release timing, I really don't care... I am more about lot's of good quality games than anything else.
For example, would you prefer any company releasing 12 games on January 1st that all were 95+ out of 100 or would prefer 12 games that rated 70 out of 100 released once a month throughout the whole year?

You have to remember that MS had Max Curse of Brotherhood, Ryse, Deadrising 3, Forza Motorsports 5, Powerstar Golf, Zoo Tycoon, Crimson Dragon, and Lococycle from last holiday... So, if you total all the MS published games vs. Sony published games to date this gen, MS is still out in front this generation for first party publishing. You can "spread it out" to make it sound like Sony has more, but that is just a Sony fanboy illusion on Sony ...
And that is the state that I want every vendor I buy products to be in...

Sony this holiday is a perfect example... They are way ahead so their holiday of their own published games were DriveClub and LBP3.
MS gets desperate... And they published Forza Horizon 2, D4, Project Spark, Disney Fantasia, Halo MCC, Sunset Overdrive, Magic 2015, and Killer Instinct Season 2.
I don't buy this kind of BS at all. I was excited for this game, but now I have moved to the scared column. If it is a great game it will be great from start to finish no matter how many people are playing it.

60 fps is parity BS?
What about DriveClub and infamous SS? Aren't they 30 FPS? Destiny... 30 FPS... In fact, it is harder to find 60 FPS games on PS4 than 30 FPS.
