I think that their approach for Minecraft has a bunch of different forks.

First, I think that they will work to make the game the same on all platforms.

Second, I think that once they do that they will integrate the online part of Minecraft into XBL and bring the XBL cross platform.

Third, I think they will continue to sell Minecraft very cheaply because it will be the model game for their cross platform XBL ambitions.

Fourth...

I want to pay one price to get the whole game experience. I do that by buying the games new (not used). If the games microtransaction me or force me to grind endlessly to avoid microtransactions they do not see another dollar from me.

I wish they would show a lot more gameplay and what makes this game truly unique. I was psyched for this game until E3's demo.

I am going to wait for reviews. Graphics are not enough for a game to get my day one dollar after the experience I've had on several games this generation.

I think people are making a bigger deal about this than it really is...

There is a lot happening in a game. It isn't all about rendering to a screen thru a GPU. There are billions upon billions of calculations for AI, NPCs, environment interactivity, etc. per second. Depending on the ussge requirements of cloud, processors, RAM, and disc storage games will appear better on one console than another.

It is not like we are talking a huge difference here. ...

@KirbysDump
I have worked with hundreds of developers.

I have not met a single one that wants their memory to be how they "screwed things up".

The development community worldwide is fairly small in comparison to other industries. Doing something bad in your code is liable to put you on a blacklist where you'd never get another job in the industry.

People complain about AC every year. Yet the game consistently sells well and people keep playing it... It can't be that bad.

Developers often do this. It isn't childish.

Its like putting your symbol or signature at the bottom or back of a painting you create. It is the mark of someone who proudly developed some software.

As long as it doesn't affect the performance and functionality of the software in any way it is not at all a bad thing.

Destiny is lacking in a lot of areas...

First, its story is generic and lifeless. You just get no sense of caring about it...

Second, it is all about a grind. You get nothing without grinding.

Third, it should have separated itself more from Halo. I play the game and think, "Gee, this is pretty much Halo with more weapons and upgrades"...

Fourth, They force the online upon you rather than catering to both SP and ...

There will always be a need for a device in the living room for the home. What we are witnessing is not the death of consoles but rather a convergence of console and PCs into one device.

The simplicity of the console is that you don't have to mess with it. The power of the PC is its extensibility and upgradability.

There will be a merged device that does everything eventually. Call it a console or a PC... But there will still be a device there.

I game on both networks and XBL is miles and miles ahead of PSN...

Collecting money is no excuse. MS and Sony are offering network services. If the network service is not functioning than there is a problem. Sony should've starting charging from the start, but they didn't think online gaming would become so big. So, there mistake was underestimating the trends in the industry.

The differences as far as I can tell, is that XBL has less outages and ...

But how is the PS+ Edition?

I don't know why you are getting disagrees on this. The facts speak for themselves...

There is no doubt hype over substance has sold games in the past year-ish... I am not saying these games are horrible, I just think their sales don't match their quality.

Destiny, DriveClub, Titanfall, BF4, CoD Ghosts, Watch Dogs, etc. all had exceptional sales and had gamer communities wondering what happened when the games didn't have broad or long term appea...

Not surprising at all. Cross platform is not something we will see anytime soon.

But the seasons thing is a bit surprising on X1 though as X1 has challenges. Could they not give rewards through completion of challenges? Guess they are just maintaining parity between the consoles and I support that even if it appears to gimp the features of one console.

Companies license technology from other companies all the time... This really is no big deal.

I'm just really tired of this debate...

A great game is a great game... Whether it is Minecraft with its 8 bit graphics or something like TLOU with its stunning graphics...

If you are deciding on purchasing a console solely because of 1080p / 60 FPS you know nothing about gaming.

I saw the Sony announcement and frankly I was unimpressed.

Injustice is a game that came out on last gen consoles and was ported to PS4 so they would have a fighter to compete with Killer Instinct at launch last year. It is a great game, but it was AAA 2 years ago, not last year or this year.

infamous first light was a stand alone expansion pack not a full AAA game.

So Sony fans like to sell this as AAA stuff, but my personal feeling is some...

I think that is purely an opinion.

I hate these articles. It was alright in the first few days of Destiny to have a few articles with opinions on how they felt, but this just keeps dragging on and on...

I get it... The game is technically and mechanically sound, its story is generically boring and the environment feels pretty empty. You have to grind to make progress...

Many people like these sorts of games... But many people do not as well...

I doubt this will happen. The biggest problem is that RPGs require the gamer to be attentive and maintain their character's inventories/skills.

Many people now-a-days just want to pick up and play the games. RPGs don't allow that with much success.

What's even funnier is I made the mistake of buying the game for my PS4...

Once you've played Forza Horzizon 2, DriveClub feels like an empty dark attempt to copy Horizon... There is so much more to do in Forza Horizon 2 than in DriveClub.

PS: DriveClub isn't a bad game, it just lacks the level of content in Forza Horizon 2. And online... Well, let's just say I am waiting for a while before re-attempting my jo...
