I can't believe that people buy these editions of games. To some they may be collector items but to me, it it about the game, not the box and toys that come with it.

China has a few issues...

1) Too much government control of consoles and their content
2) Consoles are too costly
3) There is no respect of copyright laws in China
4) PC gaming is entrenched in the gaming culture

DX12 will definitely take some time to take full advantage of.

But, the real gamer changer isn't DX12. The real game changer for X1 owners is the melding of X1 and Win10.

It is well known that most indie developers start by delivering games on PC first. Not PS or XB. This is because there are really no requirements to deliver a game on PC other than owning development tools.

So, when a developer sets about the task of making their firs...

I wish one day it wouldn't matter what tablet, phone, console, or pc you own you can play every game.

It is nice to see X1 fortunes improving because MS has improved things a lot. But, at the end of the day Spain's market is insignificant compared to the US, UK, and Japan.

@Spotie
It actually really depends on what your favorite game genres are more than whether Tomb Raider is better than Fallout, Gears, or Halo.

If you are an action adventure lover, Tomb Raider would be above all of them. If you are a pure shooter fan Halo and Gears will be your likes, and if you an RPG fan fallout will be your first choice.

I will agree that Tomb Raider won't sell as much as those franchises. But, last year there was Forza Horizo...

Like anything, video games should be balanced with other things.

I have played video games for close to four decades now.

I've learned that they are helpful in keeping my mind sharp and young.

But they don't really help with the physical side of life. So, you need to find ways to keep fit physically.

And on the social side I find they are mixed. Some good aspects but some bad as well.

Overall they s...

You may want to change your tag from deadpoolio316 to 100pctbitter.

You seem to miss a bunch of remasters... Flower, Journey, Flow, DC Universe, Unfinished Swan, and Hustle Kings. Make no mistake Sony is relying on remasters to double-gouge gamers. They have released more remaster than any other publisher this gen so far.

You complain about MS releasing nothing this year so far, but what is Sony publishing in the last half of the year other than Until Da...

Like I said, MS and Sony are each conservatively collecting $1.6 / year for these gaming networks. They should be doing a better job at making them stable and secure.

I don't care what the requirements of gaming are. If you are pushing a service you had better make sure it can handle the traffic.

Your comment is like a retail store saying it is open 24x7x365 and then you drive to it and it is closed. I don't care what the reason is, they said they ...

MS is doing a great job of continuing to move the console OS and UI forward. PC and XB gaming are merging nicely! Hopefully this melding will result in even more X1 games and more PC games support XB features like achievements!

Ummmmm.

You do know that X1 has had external drive support for about a year now? All this is, is a rebranded pocket Seagate or western digital drive with instructions on how to get it running on an X1...

Kind of scary that they think they can make money with this. Given that all you have to do is plug an external USB 3.0 drive into X1, and it does the work for you.... But, hey, some people really don't know anything.

I agree with this approach but I do want some Japanese content on X1.

By not showing up to TGS that kind of worries me that there is nothing significant to announce on the Japanese side.

This is really the only area where I think X1 is weak content wise.

Why are we comparing success of Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider?

These are two totally different games in different genres and one is a (timed) exclusive vs a multiplatform game.

That would be like comparing sales of Bloodbourne to Borderlands Handsome Collection even though they were released the same date. It just doesn't make sense.

Really, this is yet another fanboy article trying to take shots at Tomb Raider (timed) exclusivity on XB. Th...

I gave up on physical two years ago. Now I only buy digital.

First, I travel a lot, so digital helps me travel. Rather than packing a 32 - 128 disc binder I pack around two 4 TB Seagate USB powered hard drives. Rather than carrying binders, I plug my drives into the many consoles I visit and presto I have instant access to all my games with no disc swapping at all.

Second, digital saves a ton of space in my family home. I ran out of places to put my libra...

It is good that Ubisoft is looking at this in a positive light. Hope all publishers do the same!

I really like the "buy this gen game, get the last gen games free" idea.

I've played a few games on X1, and so far this feature is top notch!

The total money behind gaming is nothing compared to the banking industry, but that is not an excuse.

Too many gamers are trying to side with the gaming network companies and not critically thinking that this could be better.

These services collect $1.6 Billion per year conservatively (40K gamers paying $40 a piece [avg]). $1.6 billion should allow you to build a stable and reliable network.

I think it is important they get some Japanese content to round out the X1 more. I agree they aren't going to sell much in Japan, but they need to have Japanese content in North America to round things out better. That is the only complaint I have about X1 content so far, lot's of North American and European friendly content, but next to nothing on the Japanese side.
