It is people like you that are causing the game publishing companies to nickel and dime games and gouge consumers.
When a publisher goes and does a good thing with a game it should be supported by people buying the game. Not renting it through gamefly and taking advantage of the great deal they are offering.
Essentially, for lesss than the price of a full game, you are getting and totally revamped Gears 1, with all its DLC, and the original Gears 1-3 + Gears...
Rare Replay is probably one of the best value collections of all time. Honestly I can't think of a better collection of games for $0.

At E3 we see a few minutes of trailer and gameplay from Sea of Thieves and people are saying wait and see...
At E3, we saw a few minutes of gameplay from Horizon on PS4 and its already rated a 10/10 before anyone has played the game or seen a single ounce of story.
But, on the more serious side... Kudo also claimed his favorite Kinect game was Kinectimals. So, him saying this is the best Rare has ever made may be premature.

I just have seen a lot of people not differentiate remaster/remake/port lately.
Thrace replay collection is a simply collection of ported games.
Not trying to take a shot over your bow... just want people to call it what it is, and not something it isn't. They neither remastered nor remade any of the games. They simply ported them into a collection. (and added achievements!)

Although the guy is an amazing game creator, pissing him off is not something new. He sounds a lot like Jonathan Blow. His mouth starts yapping before his brain thinks it through.
Quite frankly, this is unprofessional. Yapping like that at this stage of an IP can do more harm than good.
Rare Replay is not remastered. It is a simple game collection. Although some games were tweaked, there are no significant graphical or game play changes.
Gears is a semester.
I have owned high end PCs since the mid 80's to play games.
The reason I buy consoles is simplicity. I don't have to ever upgrade them (other than storage), they sit where my TVs are and the rest of the family uses them without needing me to support it all the time with their stupid PC questions.
The choice to use consoles is never about power, because a console is only high end the first few months it is on the market.
It is a "damned if you do", "damned if you don't" situation for devs now.
If they do not do BC they will face pressure from the community. Also, if they don't allow their games in BC, then release ports, re-masters, collections, etc. they will probably get lower sales which in turn would reduce the brand in the eyes of XB gamers.
If they do, BC, and then decide to do a re-master, they will have to make sure the re-master adds valu...
Dying franchise?
The last new entry (Halo 4) sold almost 10 million copies on the single platform it shipped.
Even the MCC which repackaging old games sold 2.5 million to 10 million console owners at the time it shipped.
If that's a dying franchise then pretty much every franchise is dying.
This is ridiculous. My first day to game in two weeks and the network is screwed. I pay $40 / year for a network. Please, stop the stupid free indie games and put the money into stabilizing the Live network!
Last generation I saw Xbox Live go down once a year maybe. This generation it seems it can't go a few months without issues.

80,000,000 X360s sold.
PS4 + X1 sales are at 35,000,000...
So even if you assume every PS4 sold was a 360 owner and every X1 sold to date was a 360 owner there are still 55,000,000 360s not upgraded.
BC may help MS convince these to upgrade.

Everyone keeps saying Bungie is screwing up, but people are not stopping playing Destiny and I am sure there will be tons of sales for Taken King.
It is sad how gamers complain but then support this crap.
Meanwhile other great games and new IPs don't sell near as much on their respective consoles.
Gamers complain about shooters doing wrong things, being mindless and repetitive, but CoD, Halo, Gears, Killzone, Battlefield, and now Destiny ...
It looks like all of the additional features that weren't in the rebooted Tomb Raider are natural extensions. Did they get the ideas from some Sony games? Maybe, maybe not...
Uncharted was based on a lot of the work Tomb Raider did before it if I remember right.
