Kinect is used for Cortana.
I did not say MS has anything locked up. I said they currently have an edge for the near future and longer term on first party games. List out the first party games for MS and Sony and it is no contest on first party. And I am talking about games that have had trailers or gameplay, not vaporware that is rumored or probably in development.
Just because MS slowed down as last gen progressed does not mean that will happen this gen. Especially, since they have had a change in...
Actually, I found this to be well written. And I felt its conclusions were accurate.
Sony does have Japan between XB and Sony. But the reality is that Japan is between Sony and Nintendo and Nintendo is winning.
As for first party games, MS has the edge on what is coming near future and longer term as well.
As for Indies, MS was late out of the gate so Sony is winning. But, longer term that may change with universal apps across Win10 and XB...
I've been playing the BC games that have been put into the preview program.
By far this is the best implementation of BC I have seen to date. First, it works really good. Second, it is seamless to the end user (All you see is the X360 boot screen and then you are in your game). Third, because of support for things like game DVR it also feels like these become X1 games (lesser graphics though).
Good job MS... Hope the BC title list grows a lot! This i...
It actually makes sense announcing the exclusivity time frame.
First, it will get rid of the constant questions of when it is coming to PS4. Essentially, the release will happen, and PS4 gamers won't be sitting there questioning exactly when it will come to their console. Now, people can focus on how good or bad the game is.
Second, it also, talks to the Tomb Raider die-hard fans and lets them know when they can play the game on each platform. Essentia...
I think that resolution has weight on some games. Specifically, games that try and present a real-world environments.
But I disagree with needing all games at 1080p. 720p and 900p can still be perfectly good games when simulating the real world. Pac-man is no different at 1080p than 720p really.
The thing that bugs me most when playing any game is a framerate drop to the low 20's and below. You are in the heat of some sort of action then all of a sudd...
Sales do not define the success of a game.
CoD Ghosts sold 25 million copies. Does that make it a successful game?
Maybe commercially it was successful, but I doubt that either non-CoD or CoD fans consider it much of a success.
I love the disagrees...
Obviously people who have not used Surface Pro 3 or Surface 3.
For the disagrees name a device that even comes close to Surface Pro 3 or Surface 3...
iPads and Chrome Books/Tablets can't run AutoCAD, Visio, development tools, nor can they hook any USB device, nor do they have MicroSD expansion, or an pixel accurate pen input. Not to mention Miracast, mouse, dual-monitor, and docking station support.
They just need to continue doing what they are doing...
Continue:
1) Integrating PC and XB
2) Improving the XB OS
3) Investing in 1st Party Exclusives
4) Listening to gamers through their feedback site
Sales will fix themselves over time. That might not be this generation, but eventually doing the things consumers want will help them be more competitive.
@Letthewookiewin
I am sure Recore will probably be a great game (But, there has been no gameplay yet so we really don't know).
But, X1 has no hope in Japan this generation. The only way they would be able to change their fortunes in Japan is:
1) Make all Square Enix RPGs exclusive to X1
2) Buyout Atlus and make all their games exclusive to X1
3) Buyout Sega and make all their games exclusive to X1
4) Buyout Nippo Ichi Soft...
There is nothing wrong with stability updates. Every console and operating system does this all the time.
No one should slag Sony (nor any other vendor) for doing stability updates.
These operating systems have 100's of millions of lines of code. There are bound to be issues throughout.
I would like to see anyone write a book with 100's of millions of lines with no grammatical or spelling errors the first time.
MS is not holding a press conference at TGS.
@insomnium2
How else are people going to play the games they had on PS3 on their PS4? The only way is to pay.
Are thy physically forcing people to? No... But, if it is your desire to play a game like TLOU or the Uncharted series. You don't have options unless you kept your PS3. And many people don't have that option. They either don't have enough extra connections on their TVs or many weren't able to straight up afford a PS4 so they traded their ...
@CantBeStopped
I was hoping a Sony fanboy like you would comeback with that comment.
Rare Replay, Gears Ultimate, Halo MCC, and State of Decay are the only games remade by MS Game Studios for this generation. You can't even say Rare Replay is a full re-make because most of the games never came to XB to begin with.
So that is 3.5 re-makes from Microsoft to Sony's 12 re-makes.
Sony has made it a business.
MS i...
So that you can pay to replay. That is Sony's model this gen.
Journey, Flower, Fl0w, God of War III, Uncharted, TLOU, Dead Nation, Heavy Rain, Pixel Junk Shooter, Super Star Dust Ultra, Tearaway Unfolded, Unfinished Swan, etc. etc.
If Halo, Forza, Tomb Raider, and Fable Legends are weak then the PS4 lineup for the holidays is pretty much non-existent.
What another Persona and Disgaea plus a graphically enhanced version of Uncharted? <- That is weak.
Add Ori and the Blind Forest, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Killer Instinct, D4, etc. etc.
I would love to see a second Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.
How is the FPS landscape more crowded than normal years Halo releases?
If the theme of Gamescom is next year and they bring Scalebound, Quantum Break, and Crackdown I will be way more than happy.
Because that means all three games will be for next year and not later...
That in itself would be great news!
