A lot of time and effort goes into these changes.
For the past few months the team has probably worked hard on stabilizing the Win10 app, fine tuning streaming, and stabilizing BC. Also, since this is part of the MS platform team they have probably been working hard to integrate the XB features into Win10 for universal apps and cross platform PC and XB gaming.
At Gamescom I expect we will see more on the new UI due in fall (preview members may even get it)...
Not really good to compare the character models that they compared.
Lara had dynamic lighting and her hair moving around, while drake did not move nor was exposed to dynamic lighting changes.
As for the ice scenes... Tomb Raider was an outdoor scene with great draw distance and Drake was in an enclosed cave.
Both looked awesome but not very comparable.
Exactly. If people buy new consoles to play new games then why is Sony's highlight to their first party offerings in the last half of the year, God of War III and Uncharted Collection?
Yet PS4 is the number one selling console and its highest rated first party game is TLOU Re-mastered.
Yep, everybody wants next gen games. Tell that to the deaf sheep buying the blind console from Sony.
@stefan771
No. There are so many re-masters because they are cheap to create, and they easily make money. Even if their sales are low.
None of the shots are the same angle. Of course lighting, etch. Will look different.
Please show us the same scenes at the same camera angles.
I think there would still be a ton of re-masters. Gamers were so desperate for new consoles this gen (7th gen was longest ever) that they went out and paid $400-500 for these new consoles only to see average new games and a bunch of re-masters.
Those that haven't bought the new consoles have been smart. They will get the console cheaper as the price drops come into play and pick up the games from the first 3 years cheaply.
I wish I had been as smart a...
I think the target for re-masters is to sell as many copies as they can (old and new people to the games)...
To appeal to new people the re-master simply has to be a good game. Just like any other game.
But to appeal to gamers who have already completed the game it needs to add some sort of value... Graphical and framerate improvements are a start. But, to truly add value it should ensure the game play is modernized and there is additional content as well....
Is this a true re-master or are they just porting the game to PS4. The screen shots look good but some textures look suspect and the scene shots feel darker than they should.
Sony has named it a "collection" and did not put re-master in the game. Also, not comparing the screen shots to the original make me aspect not much has changed.
@Christopher
Sure, why not?
I was just having fun.
Pricing has nothing to do with its infancy. They have to pay for and run the servers that support streaming and they have to pay for the internet connectivity for streaming. Both of which play into the price and won't go down in cost.
As for downloads, Sony has made no indication that downloads are in the works. In order to do downloads they would either have to emulate a PS1/2/3/4 or they would have to port the games to every platform they support (right now only PS V...
Maybe my comment was a satire too.
How many pc gamers have a 32 gb ddr5, high end i7, and latest ATI card?
Xb1 will pull ahead in north america and the uk. Not a hope anywhere else unless forza, halo, and tomb raider all rate in the 90s on metacritic.
Forza probably will, halo probably won't, and tomb raider probably won't.
I think the number of goats a pc can do is more dependent on the hardware spec of the pc rather than ps4 over a pc.
A pc with 32 gb of ddr5 ram, the latest ATI video card and a high end i7 can run circles around the ps4.
Who is your source for sunset sales numbers?
Tomb raider is a long established franchise with many good games and two well known movies. Sunset overdrive was a completely new franchise in a completely different game genre. They should not be compared to each other.
Tomb raider will do fine this holiday. Fatigue with cod and assassin's creed will allow tomb raider to do well. Plus Ms will probably have a tomb raider hardware bundle, and promote it in a...
I think this service missed the mark.
First, its pricing sucks.
Second, I wish not only could you stream, it would be better if you had the option to download as well.
Third, it needs a client for pc, android, and ios. Not just Ps devices.
Fourth, the catalogue has to be a lot bigger.
Latest we will see it is October. If you remember last year, Phil said he didn't want to make changes in November and December because there were so many new users buying at that time and he wanted them to have a positive experience.
Remasters have to add value for them to be worth while. Simply porting a game to the new consoles is not good enough.
The best remasters:
1) completely overhaul graphics and framerate.
2) modernize the game play
3) add additional content that adds value
What a stupid title. Capcom Vancouver finished deadrising 3 two years ago. Whatever they have been working on, it is probably 1/2 to 3/4 complete. They are not just starting it. No third party studio can develop nothing for 2 years and stay alive.
I don't know why people are calling it a re-master. Activision did not market it as a re-master.
They said they were bringing Prototype to X1 and PS4. That's what they did. The games provide 20-30 hrs of campaign and 60 hrs to complete all the trophies/achievements.
Here in Canada it is $49.99 for the bundle that has both games with all of their DLC. That is $25 per game.
Prototype isn't as good as infamous, but it is still a ...
Yep, with a bank account north of $100 Billion dollars MS could not acquire the engineering necessary to make a slim. /s
WTF? That is the stupidest comment I have read in years.
