Crackdown doesn't change the power of the console one bit.
What is happening though is we are seeing an innovation unfold. Scalable cloud computing for home consoles! Today explosions, tomorrow smarter AI, enriched environments and greater vastness to games!
From videos of the collection I wouldn't call it a re-master. I would call it an upscaling to 1080p and an increased framerate.
A re-master would require them to go and improve all the character/villain models and environments.
Sony isn't even calling it a re-master. They are calling it a collection. Essentially making gamers pay for BC. Everyone talked about evil money hungry Microsoft, but Sony gamers are completely letting Sony off the hook for...

This thread is about Horizon not QB.
I am not trying to take anything away from horizon. It looks awesome. I think it is creative, and looked like awesome gameplay. I just wouldn't call it innovative.
The demo showed off a solid game. But I would hardly call it innovative.
Chick with bow (aka Laura Croft) stealths to attack a robotic dinosaur. Uses cool new weapons to pin the robot down and finishes him in an explosion of glory!
Absolutely awesome, but I would hardly call the demo an innovation.
Really...
What exclusives have been so compelling on the PS4 this generation to get you to buy the device?
I don't care what side of the fence you are on. There has not been a single game that I can say, "Gee, that is the exclusive game that made me buy the console". Neither PS4 nor X1 has a single compelling game to buy their console for yet.
PS4 success has been a combination of four things:
1) Microsoft's failure to address gamers in launching the X1. The focus on pretty much everything else hurt MS badly. Parity, Kinect, TV, and Publisher requirements killed MS to start the gen.
2) Price. Being $100 cheaper at launch helped Sony sell a lot of consoles. Especially when multiplatform games were and mostly still are shipping better on PS4
3) Last gen fatigue. Last generation was the longes...

Cross play and separate releases have nothing to do with each other...
Cross play is the ability of gamers to play against and with each other across platforms.
Separate releases are the same game shipping on two or more platforms. Which may or may not support cross play.
How was Scalebound, Crackdown 3, Quantum Break, DVR functionality for over the air TV, chat pad, Killer Instinct Season 3, Cobalt, and Halo Wars 2 E3 all over again?
None of that was at E3.
Crackdown is an XB cult classic. People bought it to play Halo 3 beta, but found it to be a very fun game.
2nd one was a letdown.
But they brought back Jones for this one and it looks great!
I don't think anyone is calling this a AAA game. But, it definitely looked cool seeing all the destruction in the video.
@Christopher
It really doesn't matter what is and is not done...
If the cloud is out, so is Destiny. The game simply does not play offline.
Neverwinter just keeps giving!
@breakpad
DriveClub and Forza are two completely different racers.
Comparisons between the two show you know absolutely nothing about simulated racing games and you are just a jealous Sony fanboy. Forza is a racing sim like GT, DriveClub is an arcade racer.
I think that is a loss for them. Essentially BC has two appeals...
1) Nostalgia for gamers who played d loved the game
2) New gamers who play the new one and want to play the history of the franchise.
By not doing BC they are disappointing both sets of gamers and decreasing the value of their brands in gamer's minds.
Not retro. All going forward games with gold on 360 must be BC.
The only disappointment I saw was when they showed the third party support and there was no Activision logo on the screen.
The relationship between Activision and Microsoft must really be sour now.
But all Activision does really well now is yearly Skylanders and CoD. No real innovation there so it isn't a big loss.
Then, BAM!
Killer Instinct Season 3 and Halo Wars 2!
No lack of first party games and new first party IPs on XB1!
Forza Motorsports 6 looks amazing...
And the detailed simulation of rain! Even more amazing!
In fairness Recore will probably be a first half game. Not first Quarter.
They said Spring 2016.
It is funny how Sony fans are going for the third party exclusives now. SFV, Nier 2, Star Ocean 5, and Hellblade.
Wonder if they are exclusives or just timed exclusives?
