I don't see one as better than the other. It is more a matter of preference.

Uncharted is more on the action side of an action-adventure, and Tomb Raider is more on the adventure side of action-adventure.

New IPs do not equal innovation.

Sunset Overdrive, Until Dawn, DriveClub, Bloodborne, Ryse, etc. are new IPs, and other than pretty, new scenery, size, and scale, not any innovative.

80% of the indie games are ports from PC land. Innovation level next to zero. And when they do innovate it is more a concept then a full game.

Japan games have sold like crap this generation.

Personally, I don't like episodic content. I understand why single play games want to do it. It is essentially a way to kill the used game market by delivering a small amount of game content on a disc then putting the lion's share of the cost to the season pass.

But, I find myself waiting until all content is shipped and the final (complete) version comes out. Usually I get it cheaper and the game is a complete package to play all at once.

I'm sure that No Man's Sky will definitely have a following.

But, I don't think this game is the next big thing in gaming.

It is funny how people try to make stuff look positive when it isn't.

Add the numbers for Wii and Wii U and the console story this generation is completely different.

Consoles aren't dying, but the numbers this generation are going to be lower than the previous generation. And this is mostly due to the fact that there is not a single new innovation that would encourage people that don't normally game, to game.

Also, I don't s...

Yep, because when you are on the Nth wave and you are up to your ass in zombies, the first thing you are thinking of is the sharpness, textures, softness of light, etc...

99.999% of gamers will never play the PS4 and X1 game side by side so how would you know the difference?

The differences are there but it is not like the X1 gamer will be disappointed, Shading, textures, and light has always been different between XB and PS. Which one is better is more a ma...

Tomb Raider has been always more than one or a few people. The IP will be fine.

Can't wait for the next one. I've put a ton of hours in Rise of the Tomb Raider and it is a very good game! I'm glad that all gamers (who want to) will get to experience it!

I think the title should be more like the "Most over-hyped AAA games in 2015".

For the most part I think the Metacritic ratings of the games match their quality. But, if you talked with fanboys of those games before and after release, they fell short on their hype levels on several fronts.

Destiny just ended up being really more of the same, MGS V is not overrated it is just a niche game (I would put Star Wars BF in its place), Halo 5's campaig...

@travesty
There is not a chart tracking Japan that has PS4 ahead of Wii U in total sales.

And this holiday season Wii U stayed well ahead of PS4 in Japan.

I don't know how shipping a bunch of Japanese games will change their fortunes. Wii U is releasing Zelda next year. Probably the biggest franchise for the Japanese market outside of Mario.

Japan is firmly Nintendo.

Western people may think that a bunch of Japanese games will make Japanese gamers want PS4. But, the reality is that Japan is awaiting Zelda.

And add to Zelda a Pokémon and Star Fox game and Japan will be Nintendo'...

VR is not too expensive. It is priced based on the cost of the tech in it!

The issue is that people may not willing to pay the price for that tech. Especially since there are articles about how this is just the start and VR tech will quickly evolve over the next few years. Which essentially means any investment in it is a throw away. I don't know a lot of people that are willing to throw away $600 to try something and have it completely outdated quickly.

Fable Legends has not done a public beta yet. It has been in closed beta a long time (essentially game preview).

That I know of only Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 4, and Quantum Break currently have a specific release date.

To me, all the rest are coming, but whether they ship in 2016 is completely up in the air.

And I really wish people would stop talking about full exclusives. Frankly, it is a dumb conversation because the PS platform will...

That is what he talks about every week. If you are an xb owner you should watch this every week to get the new stuff scoop on xb. It is essentially the revival of what he used to call the major minute back in 360 days.

90% of games don't have a solid ship date for 2016 yet. These articles should be done in retrospect not ahead of the year, because games are often delayed and moved around.

A perfect example is e3/gdc 2015. How many games from e3/gdc have shipped and how many are still waiting to ship? uncharted, no man's sky, dreams, fable legends, cuphead, gigantic, last guardian, quantum break, crackdown, scalebound, horizon, etc. All shown at e3/gdc and still have not shipped 6...

Last gen sold 270 million consoles.

Any given game sold anywhere up to about 25 million across the 270 million consoles sold. At a maximum the core gamer crowd is probably 15 million gamers. Realistically it is probably in the 5 million range.

Casuals are a massive part of console sales.

@rainslacker.
First holiday was 2013 release for x1 and ps4.
Second holiday was 2014 for x1 and PS4.
Third holiday was 2015 for x1 and ps4.
The Wii U shipped in holiday 2012.

The consoles are moving to the third year of the generation (fourth for Wii U) not their third Holliday. The holiday season is the start of the next year for the generation.

The casual appeal is based on 2 factors. Price and casual features. This gen the...

Not allowing PS4 gamers to have EA Access is a pretty good example of doing something that is bad for gamers.

I am not talking historically. History doesn't always repeat. This is a different generation and we are already seeing sales are less than last generation.

By the third holiday last generation (4th for 360) the Wii was at 58 million, 360 was at 35 million and PS3 was at 29 million at the beginning of December. Here we are in the 3rd holiday this gen (4th for Wii U) and at the beginning of December we were at 32 million for PS4, 17 million for X1, and 11 million for Wii...

No. We've had more than enough re-masters this gen.

It is already the recycle generation.
