I just don't understand why this is a bad thing.
I (as a gamer) get to choose which device I play the game on and can play it on two types of devices.
If you wanna play the game on XB1 go ahead, if you wanna play on PC go ahead. They shouldn't force console sales on gamers just to play a specific game.
I applaud MS for starting to break down the exclusive walls.

I think this is good for gamers.
Buy the devices you want but still be able to play all the games you like. That's a win-win. All games should ship on several platforms. Pure exclusives are bad for gamers and black mail you to buy a specific device.

It is essentially, an improved version of Alan Wake. Has a short, stand alone story.
Then, has an Alan Wake version of horde mode.
Both are really good, and you don't need to play the first game to enjoy American Nightmare.

MGS 4 had hours of 720p cut scenes and it was only 26.4 GB on PS3.
I doubt Mortal Kombat X remotely comes close to the cut scene time from MGS 4.

The games have the same base engines but the Horizon engine is tuned for simpler, different physics, and different aerodynamics suited to casual arcade racing. The Motorsports engine physics are tuned to simulate the control of real cars.
The affects of the tuning are completely different between the two games. And the two games play completely different. Anyone who has played both games to any extent would know that.

There are about 2,700-2,800 games for XB360. My collection is two short for North American games. I am missing a lot of Japanese and European only games.
Forza Motorsports and Forza Horizon should not be compared.
They are two completely different games.
Drivers and gamers should like them for very different reasons.
I have over 2,500 games on X360. I keep one console to play the games that aren't BC.
What was wrong with FH2 on 360?
The 360 wasn't capable of the same game FH2 was on X1, but it still played as good or better than FH1.
What was wrong with the weather in Forza Horizon 2? The cars were much harder to control and reacted to the roads accordingly when there was rain.
The weather system was as I would expect it to be in FH2.

There are two things that a game like No Man's Sky has to do to keep the interest of gamers.
1) They need to make sure their is purpose to the game or that the gamer can create purpose.
2) They have to make sure the content of the game continues to evolve and that the content is tied to purpose.
The problem I have with Destiny is purpose. What is the sense in playing the game? There are MP mission that you do stuff, but they are all the same typ...
There is a lot of difference between the last two generations and previous generations. PS2 and PS3 had a lot of games in their libraries and lots of people bought games and didn't get a chance to play or finish them. BC gives them that ability even once they get rid of the old console.
I know that's not a big selling feature for the person who played 10-20 games all generation. But, for the ones where their collection is in the hundreds it can become a selling fea...
Exclusives are bad for gamers. That is essentially, forcing you to buy a specific device to play a specific game.
It is black mailing gamers.
I buy a console for the console features. I buy games and I want to play them on all my devices.
