He left Lionhead in 2010. No one talking about MS treatment of 1st party studios has any credibility unless they have served under the reign of Phil Spencer.
It is not like MS was at all the studios, saw their games and said, "Gee, these are all great studios making excellent games, let's shut them down.".
They did a realistic assessment of the studios and their games and this was the result of the effort. I do feel bad for people's lives who were affected by this, but if the games aren't good enough, there is no sense releasing them for gamers to buy crap.

I feel very bad for the people who lost their jobs as part of this.
As for the games, after many years of development Fable Legends failed to make any waves at all in its demos. It is not like it is a Metcritic 80+ game that was cancelled. Probably in the 70's at best.
As for Project Knoxville, nobody really knows what state it was at so, we obviously haven't missed anything.

I am not talking about new owners. In my OP I simply said that PS4 owners want to play older games as well. This is proven by the sales facts of the top last PS3 games as remasters on PS4.
I didn't say my age had anything to do with this. I was simply stating I've gamed for 40 years and along the way there are certain games that I want to keep experience regardless of generation.

Bloodborne sold over 2 million copies but TLOU is over 7 million and Uncharted Collection is over 3.5 million. Remasters are clearly dominating PS4 sales to this point in the generation and we are 3 years in. That is over 1/3 of the way through the generation!

I just find it funny that PS4 owners talk about wanting only new games, but buy remasters the most. Literally, TLOU and Uncharted Collection are the best selling Sony game this generation so far. There are still 100 million PCs sold every year. That is more than this generation of consoles have sold so far.
I find it hard to believe that there are less PCs that can do VR than PS4.
That is because they are doing something different in all these spaces then most of the console competition.
It is bad media reporting and fanboyism that is forcing MS to clarify things.
1) Consoles need to be more than just games to appeal to a broader audience. Digital TV, Music, and Video are all things Sony is embracing as well. Gaming press and fanboys seem to miss this fact and make a big stink about MS being in this space.

Just because they put out a new XB does not mean you need to buy it.
It is just like buying vehicles. Most people only buy them periodically ever X years, whereas some vehicle enthusiasts buy/lease them more often (Yearly).

People need to quit reading that upgrades means configurable devices that you mess with internally or modularly.
Maybe upgrades just means that they will come out with new consoles more often and these consoles will be infinitely backwards compatible and forwards compatible for a period of time (Something like 7 years).

If you don't see value in a console absolutely no one is forcing you to buy it.
You still get some games that you can't play on the competitive consoles and if you have a PC capable of gaming now you get to play games on both PC and XB. So, all they made it so that you get the benefits on both devices. And now, they allow you to choose what device you prefer rather than blackmailing you into buying a console.

Frankly, Peter M. and Don M. probably ruined Lionhead.
Fable 3 was garbage, Fable Journey, worse garbage, and now Fable Legends probably wasn't that great.
My guess is that Phil gave them a chance to make Legends awesome but they couldn't and their secret other project did not look prospective, so he decided to fix the problem before it got out of hand.
