I liked Ghosts, but the campaign was way too short.

There were many games a lot worse then some of those on the list. Totally ignored indie games which had some real crappers.

Wander, Basement Crawl, Daylight, Fighter Within, Rock Zombie, Nutjitsu all are console exclusives and well at the bottom of my list.

Maybe the article should've been first party published games and it might have some credibility.

The writer says Halo 5 campaign was disappointing but yet the articles title is "...

Actually, MS in their financials do not use sales of other devices to justify XB. They use "user engagement" through things like live, music, video, and game sales. That is where the profit of a console is. Hardware is only part of the story and it is not really a big money making part of it.

I don't see this as phasing XB out at all. MS has stayed committed to things that are doing a lot worse in the marketplace (Ex. Windows Phone). The value proposition fr...

I think the better question is why not?

Why not give PC gamers the same games as XB gamers? And vice versa?

Why not allow gamers to cross buy titles on PC and XB if they own both?

Why not allow gamers to play games on the device of their choosing rather than the device the first party chooses?

Why not have a network that spans XB and PC for achievements and social gaming activities?

Some say this devalues th...

XB1 and PS4 will not peak because neither will ever be replaced. Every few years I predict they will update the hardware but the Firmware/OS will remain the same on both machines thereby making them backwards and forward compatible just like PCs.

Gone are console cycles, in is hardware refreshes.

Remedy owns Alan Wake and coincidently visited Naughty Dog this past week.

I would not be surprised if Alan Wake was multi-platform.

I am all for it. I love Alan Wake and the more potential sales would probably more spend on the game to make it even better!

"It's not just about gaming"...

Yep, it is also about paying!

The problem of it being significantly cheaper then Vive or Oculus is then the questions start being asked about whether the tech is inferior to them or not.

I'm not saying it would be, but when I see stuff priced $100-300 cheaper then the competition, the first thing I typically ask myself is "why so much cheaper, what is it missing?".

I won't apologize for MS issues. Personally, I haven't seen them because I have busy in really life this past week.

But, after spending from 2006-2015 on both PSN and XBL, I definitely prefer XBL to PSN. Even when things go down, XBL comes up faster (usually) and MS seems more on top of the issues.

And Remedy has released games like two Max Paynes and 2 Alan Wakes.

Both devs are top notch. I wanna see both games do really well. But, I will rate them when I play them, not make up hyperbole about games being must haves and GOTY well before they ever release.

@Stogz
PS better sell more multiplatform games then XB1 in every instance. The platform has almost double the install base of XB1. If it isn't outselling XB1 for every multiplatform game there is something seriously wrong.

I really like how games get rated well before they are released...

Whether it is Quantum Break on the XB side or Uncharted 4 on the PS side. Fanboys should just lighten up and enjoy the games. Whether they are must haves or GOTY or somewhere inbetween, really doesn't matter. What really matters is the game and the experience. I hope both do really well because the devs of both games are top notch and known for delivering great games!

Microtransactions were in games long before Halo.

I really don't see what the big deal is.

First, the microtransactions are completely optional. I have played through the game and play online and still have yet to buy one myself. And I didn't have to grind a ton to complete the game or I don't feel at a disadvantage in MP.

Second, hundreds of games have microtransactions. This is nothing new.

Third, microtransa...

Doesn't really matter when you get that number of countries.

Past USA, UK, Western Europe, and Japan sales of $400-800 accessories are negligible. Even $60 games become meaningless to track in those countries never mind expensive accessories.

If you look at the parts list of these devices they are priced accordingly. The bigger issue is whether gamers are willing to pay the price for the experience.

VR is showing that they are not cheap accessories. Unlike things like controllers, Kinect, Move, Nunchuk's, racing wheels, fighting sticks, dance mats, flight sticks, etc. These are all priced in the sub-$150 range. Now we are all of a sudden talking about accessories that are priced in the $400-800 price range...

Killer Instinct just keeps getting better!

The first season was solid, Season 2 was awesome, Season 3 is shaping up to be the best fighter this gen so far!

When was the last time a racing game won GOTY?

I love all the Forza games and play them all the time. But, no racing game will be GOTY when games like Mass Effect Andromeda, Quantum Beak, Uncharted 4, Deus Ex, Zelda, and many others are scheduled to ship.

So how would you feel if you pre-ordered a car and they delivered it without an engine for the first month or so?

3778d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

I would be fine if they charged $30 and then had a $30 season pass for the additional content. But, charging $60 on day one to give an incomplete experience for a month or so is unacceptable.

There have been far too many games this generation that shipped incomplete or stunted on day one... Battlefield 4, Halo MCC, DriveClub, Star Wars Battlefront, etc.
