@SenorFartCushion
Why shouldn't they make a console that supports 4K gaming? PCs are there, why shouldn't a console be there?
As for a comparison with cell phones or cars... Well, almost every electronic on the planet has iterations yearly. Receivers, speakers, MP3 players, Blu-ray players, TVs, etc. etc. What is uncommon is for an electronic device to be made and only iterate new versions every 5-7 years.
People like you have it wron...
This is because Sony purposely misleads gamers by announcing games way earlier then they ship. Go back the last 10 years and look at the average years it has taken Sony from announcement to launch games.
Heck we are finally seeing Last Guardian this year. It is almost 8 years from its first announcement!
What dumb stuff?
What matters more? How many games, XBL subscriptions, Groove subscriptions, and other services sold or console sales?
Why is it wrong to have XB games on PC as well? Because they don't need to sell consoles to sell games then? Because gamers can freely choose what device they want to play instead of being told to play game X you have to buy a console?
Why is it wrong to announce a new more powerful console over a...
I really think that the gaming press should grow up and quit comparing PS whatever to XB whatever as if one is superior to the other. The reality is that both MS and Sony are differentiating their products more and more. And that comparisons are becoming apples to oranges. It is becoming clearer and clearer that the choice to buy either device is based on how you want to game and what games are most important to you.
LOL.
MS is in charge of the #2 selling console on the planet and has brought many innovations to the console industry. XBL, console shooters, consoles based on PC architecture, achievements, etc were all things brought by MS and are now standard in the console industry.
Saying MS doesn't have the clout to decide anything is completely misinformed.
"Scoprio could be outdated in two years"
XB1 and PS4 are already outdated compared to 4K gaming PCs.
Tell us something we don't know.
I think MS was clear that there will be no more generations. The Xbox One is the console and they will continue iterating it. So if people are disappointed it is only because there is no such thing as generations anymore.
And I'm fine with that. The promise they made was that you will be able to keep bringing your games forward indefinitely. So if I buy a game there is no more rebuying it on the next console. It will be available to me forever. And hopefully now t...
Really? Sony is going to put out Neo as well so that must make the PS4 worthless as well.
And why is it a joke. PCs are delivering 4K games regularly now. Why as a console owner do I have to suffer at 1080p and 30 FPS for 5 more years?
It is not like they are saying you have to buy Scorpio. They have been clear that you will be able to play all games on all the X1 consoles for a "long time".
Oh ok...
You like having to only buy playstation hardware to play your games
You prefer a stagnant console OS
You prefer not having EA access
You prefer having to buy your games twice on both PS and PC if you have both
You prefer Sony announcing tons of games and delivering only a quarter of them each year
Yup OK.
You obviously didn't see the article where they talk about who did and did not deliver games this past year since E3 2015.

Sony... 23% of games announced last year at E3 actually shipped by this E3.
Microsoft... 31% of games announced last year at E3 actually shipped by this E3.
Neith...
And why is that?
If they let Sony announce the specs for Neo first, the conversation would've been, "How can Scorpio beat that", or "MS waited and announced something better as a reaction to Neo".
This way the conversation puts MS in the drivers seat. Essentially, daring Sony to do better. MS even boldly stated that it would be the most powerful console when released.
This way MS is showing confidence in the pr...
So what is your point?
Whether you call it "Xbox One 2" or just the "Next Xbox One" is irrelevant. I won't buy it because of its name. I may buy it because of what it can do.
4K gaming is a pretty good selling feature! That might even make me want to go and buy a 4K TV!
Crackdown was formally announced at E3 2014.It would have to ship in June 2018 to be 4 years.
Halo Wars 2 is looking good. Can't wait to see gameplay. Hopeful this is deeper then Halo Wars 1.
Good to see a strong RTS on XB1!
Well XB1 is going into its fourth holiday. Today's PCs have the latest and greatest capabilities.
I am sure a four year old PC will work about the same as XB1.
A new PC will always outperform a four year old device.
That does not devalue XB1. Many people can't afford constantly adding and changing hardware. They only have a few hundred dollars and want the best bang for their buck. A $300 XB1 or PS4 today still gives good ba...
The game ships next year. we don't need to see much yet.
Or game developers could set realistic schedules they know they can meet?
I run development teams for a living. If I schedule stuff like many of these developers do, I would be fired.
I prefer to worry about whether it is a good game or not. Just because they use an older engine does not make the game an automatic fail. One could argue Doom's engine isn't a modern masterpiece, but it is really good gameplay!
I don't know why anyone thinks XB1 is going to gain or overtake PS4. I don't think that is even what MS is trying to do. If they were there would be a singular focus on just XB1 and not Windows 10 as well.
What I see is that MS is no longer trying to chase Sony's tail. They are charting a new direction for XB1. Great games and device agnostic seems to be the theme I am hearing. And I like it. Give me more games and allow me to play them on my gaming PC, La...
Remote play is completely different then what MS is doing.
Remote Play is streaming tech.
What MS is allowing you to do is install your games natively on the specific devices and play them natively.
The two techs should not be compared.
