Fornite.... Specifically designed to be very addictive and just take money.
These aren't games as art. They are eSport games.
I don't agree that Gears 5 is the second coming, but it is a good franchise just like Borderlands and Doom are good franchises that will soon release franchise continuing quality games!
Glad to see Microsoft is giving the studios leeway to build a solid game. Hopefully leads to even more solid games from the ton of studio acquisitions this past two years. Too bad Gears is a Microsoft Platform exclusive though. I want exclusives to disappear and all gamers should be ab...
@Christopher
None of those games are considered 3rd person shooters. They are all action-adventures.
Gears is not an action-adventure. It is a pure 3rd person shooter.
Please show me a single third-person shooter where they have rated above 90 this generation on Metacritic.
Your expectations are not reality for third-person shooters anymore.
I'm not certain I was trying to make sense. They would just be fun!
This is really good and funny. Can't wait for the following...
Jim Carrey? "Ace Ventura, Lancer Detective"
50 Cent? "Shoot up the Candy Shop"
P!nk? "Acrobatic Boomer"
Tyrion Lannister? "Mini Marcus"
A sign of things to come? OK.
We have seen a lot of good single-player studios closed, acquired, and let loose for independence for the past 10 years. Sony has not started a sign of things to come. It started long ago when 3rd party studios publishers snatched up single player studios. Sony had it right that the best place for single player games is in first party studios so now we are seeing them migrate to 1st parties to survive.
Over the next few y...
@Rachel_Alucard
Who cares who is 1st, 2nd, 3rd.... or whatever? None of the big three are going anywhere. They are around today, they will be around next gen, and they will be around the gen after as well. Anyone thinks that any of these companies are folding there tents are delusional.
I am not sure what you mean about "notorious" Is Sony not in deep with Activision and EA as well?
Star Wars Battlefront games, Destiny (when Activision had it), Call of Duty, etc.
Seems like Sony are just as bad.
Every company doesn't care about gamers and are trying to milk gamers.
Nintendo put out a less then stellar console in the late 90's and that help PS1 and PS2 gain a foothold, Sony delayed putting out PS3 for a year and over-priced it and for the three years great games were hard to come by.... Microsoft had 360 RRoD issues and I don't even know what planet Don M. was on as he led the XBox One into existence.
On the third party side, Ubisoft ...
So it is an 8 hr campaign on the high side. So let's say you are almost at the end. If you get bored after 15 mins, you've played it about once every month-and-a half for the past three years assuming you bought it day one.
Or you haven't played it a all and just hating on the game. < Probably more likely.
For me, Gears 1 was the best, because it was completely new and really cool. Gears 2 was second because it built on what they missed ...
I don't understand how this makes MS poosays. I cannot think of a single game that if you take smoking out ruins iti n any way shape or form.
Now, you take my lancer chainsaw away that is a completely different story.
The important part is everyone gets to play this game on PS4 and XB. All gamers win.
Alan Wake got a 9/10 from IGN, Max Payne 9.3, and Max Payne 2 9.4. So looks like Remedy are on mostly back on track!
So he is concerned the creative director left and about microtransactions. lol.
First, and foremost the creative part of Halo Infinite is probably complete. You don't get overly creative with one year left in the project otherwise the game will be a technical mess. We are probably a few months away from the big marketing push, technical Alphas, then into betas so they need to really be locking down what the game is at this point.
As for microtransac...
You obviously have never played their games. I am not a fan of Control for a few of my own reasons...
But, their Max Payne games were really good. And Alan Wake was a bigger vision then they could execute on 360, but still really done well. Alan Wake American Nightmare was a ton of fun. And Quantum Break definately wasn't a 90's type game, but it was done well.
I expect Control will be another solid entry by Remedy. But it is not a day one bu...
A creative game that is a dud, is 10 times better then cookie cutter game.
I don't think what Kojima has done here is 90's metacritic type game. It is probably late 70's / early 80's. But, people should not be slagging it because they don't want to play it after the demos. It will probably have a cult following.
Media are great at creating and maintaining fanboyism.
This is not a war. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo all have solid consoles that are selling enough to justify another iteration. All three companies have invested billions and will continue to make consoles for the foreseeable future.
Also, all three have a solid stable of first party studios and will create some of the best games on the planet over the next decade.
So, what is this...
To be fair, GT Sport is a good game now that they have worked out all the issues.
It is funny, Sony fanboys make fun of Sea of Thieves because of its weak start, but it has developed into a fun game. Same with GT Sport. XB fanboys make fun of it but it has developed into a solid racer.
@Christopher
Please show us on Metacritic's web site or the playstation store where the genre of any of the games you mentioned is third-person shooter.
