You don't charge $20 a month for gamepass and put your first party games on it day one expecting to see greater sales of the game at retail.
Sincerely, if you did, you are not the swiftest stick in the pile.
Interestingly enough Forza Horizon 4 launched last year day one on gamepass and it has a 92 on Metacritic. So, I am not sure the bar is as low as you think it is.
So you are going to pass on The Last of Us II?
A great game is a great game no matter what the subject matter is.
Microsoft has said that all its first party games are going to gamepass day one.
Nothing to do with faith. That is a commitment to bring their games to gamepass on day one.
Forza Horizon 4 also came to gamepass day one... Forza Horizon 1-3 were all 85+ games on metacritic. Did they lack faith there too?
They are just doing what they have said they will do.
This gaming is about diversity, not about doing all the same stuff.
Games that go where other games don't can lead to new features and trends.
I am not saying these features or game is for me, but, I like developers trying new stuff in games. It moves the industry forward success or failure.
I am not sure that same-old is bad for Borderlands 3...
The first two were good. The pre-sequel wasn't nearly as well done. I actually want it more like 1 & 2.
In Canada Gears 5 is $79.99 on Steam.
GamePass is $11.99 a month (Regular price).... Plus you get all the other gamepass games.
Not sure why you would buy the game on Steam. I am surprised there is that many on Steam.
I agree that MS first party titles have been less then stellar for the most part this generation. But, since Don M. left it has been slowly and steadily improving. Phil does not get all the credit, but he turned the ship in the right direction.
But, they have shown quite a few good signs of improvement. They bought a bunch of good studios. Sea of Thieves started low, but has improved a lot. Same with State of Decay 2. Personally, I enjoyed Crackdown though it was shor...
Frankly, who cares about the numbers? MS?
Personally, I don't make any decisions based on numbers. That is a cattle thought process. "Everyone is doing it therefore so should I".... Moooo-Moooo just follow the crowd like cattle.
Think on your own and make decisions based on what you need and want, not what everyone else is doing.
MS is obviously making money in gaming otherwise they would be dropping it. Sony is maki...
And that is the thing about everything we buy.
Free is never truly free and if it is most of the time the companies go bankrupt.
Things change over time. Whether it is coal mines, nuclear plants, department stores, general retail, manufacturing, etc. Technology and environmental issues are changing almost everything.
It is not bad that there is a change. It does suck for everyone employed by them and that definitely needs to be addressed. The world has to get better at change management when so many are affected. It is not employee's fault their companies were stupid, and the change still ne...
I agree that more premium games are better....
But, I disagree with tying me to one hardware platform. The company that lets me to take advantage of the unique hardware capabilities of each hardware and OS platform (PC, Console, and Phone/Tablet) will win me over.
I don't want to stream on my console or PC... I want to have the games locally and I want them to use every ounce of power on the console or PC, I want to stream on devices while I trave...
I think that Microsoft has brought Gears back to where it deserves to be with this release. I have played Act I all the way through and it is so far a masterpiece in my mind.
I agree it is a great looking game.
I don't know if I can agree that nothing else can match it on One X or PS4 Pro.
I played thru act i yesterday with a friend. The only extremely minor problem I have with the game is that sometimes objectives and the path forward are not always clear.
The campaign itself is a masterpiece so far. This is the Gears I was waiting for since Gear 2. Glad to see this franchise is back on track.
It is not a big deal because to do gaming really well it is a standard required hardware feature.
I don't know if that is true. And if you want to be technical... First, it is not a pure XB exclusive as it is on PC too.
Second, there are games like Bloodborne, Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Forza Hoizon 4, Uncharted 4, etc. Lot's of great games this generation. Best exclusive is a perception not a fact.
I am not sure anyone is comparing it to God of War, Horizon, Uncharted, and Days Gone. Quite frankly:
1) It is not in the same genre as any of those games
2) You are talking about 3 GotY games. Almost all games will be less then them. It is like saying the Golden State Warriors weren't as good as the Toronto Raptor this past NBA season.... Duh.... Raptors won the championship. That doesn't mean there isn't a ton of golden state fans.
For sure, MS has to keep showing that it is serious about allowing these studios to be creative and giving them the time to build games that ship on day one with really good quality.
They seem to have a lot of good stuff in the pipe so we will see how it goes!
More games! Yeah!
So what are they double counting?
