At this point neither Sony or Microsoft has swayed me.
I am leaning XSX only because of The Ascent. But, that is precarious at best.
Unlike your "I am already going Sony even though I know nothing of what they are offering" approach, I am waiting to see what the real games that are going to be offered are. I have the luxury that I will end up buying both probably. It is just the when that is up for questioning.

I am not salty, I am just focused on facts and your comment is either off topic to the article or not factual. They weren't showing games and they did not say they were showing games in the article for their June reveal.
Therefore your comment is just a random post I could've seen with any article about next gen consoles.

Microsoft is clearly going to talk about platforms and services for the next gen. That means the OS, Live, xCloud, GamePass, etc. NOT GAMES.

I will start this with absolutely. Ghosts and TLOU2 are really great last year entries by Sony for the end of the generation.
But, saying that is not the same on lets say XBO is entirely false. First, in January there was Ori and the Willow of the Wisps, then Bleeding Edge in February (Yes, I know that is not a good game), then MS is shipping Minecraft Dungeons this month, then in August is Wasteland 3, and for the holidays they are shipping Halo Infinite and Gears Tactic...

I agree. These games were not Uncharted games, but I don't want Tomb Raider to be an Uncharted clone. I buy Uncharted for Uncharted and I buy Tomb Raider for Tomb Raiding!
People complain about the exploration but I spent literally dozens upon dozens of hours exploring in Rise of the Tomb Raider discovering new stuff each and every time. Each game has gotten bigger and more to do.
I will have both of these consoles.
The question is which one to buy first or both or none in the first year. And what games are at the top of the list to buy.
I am excited about Sony first party exclusives in two to three years, but I am not sure they will be all that great at launch. My feeling is the same for XSX. Neither company has been doing much story telling of their launch games yet. That leads me to believe there will be nothing new or great...

The fact is overall console sales are dramatically down this generation.
There are various factors for that, but one factor is that things are changing.
It is funny I have many TVs in my house and lots of privacy in each room. Yet, my kids pick up their tablets and laptops and often prefer to stream on those devices even though all the TVs are setup to stream the same sites.

Personally, I have dubbed this generation the re-cycled generation. There have been a ton of remasters, re-makes, and sequels this generation.
Sure there were new IPs and new games, but the pillars of this generation looked very similar to previous generations for Sony and Microsoft....
For Sony, more of TLOU, God of War, Killzone, GT, etc.
For Microsoft, more of Halo, Gears, Forza Motorsports, and Forza Horizon, etc.
And what exclusives have they announced that will ship this year?

It is pretty much guaranteed that as part of the launch lineup Sony will announce TLOU2 and Ghosts of Tsushima as cross-buy titles for PS5. Thereby making these games cross-generation.
LOL. Microsoft announces Halo Infinite upfront as cross gen shipping in October-November... People throw up the towels ...
I think that if MS is really serious about Japan it has to go for a much bigger acquisition.
Something like Sega, Konami, or Namco-Bandai where they get the publisher and several development teams.
