In the past year MS studios or publishing has shipped...
Gears of War 5, Outer Worlds, Ori and the Willow of the Wisps, Bleeding Edge, Gears Tactics, and Minecraft Dungeons.
For not shipping anything that is quite a bit.
Isn't hard to beat their XBO sales in the far east.
Announce Lost Odyssey 2 and Blue Dragon 2 and they would easily beat their XBO sales.
They need to be on every platform.
I want access to every game anywhere I have broadband access. TVs, tablets, phones, PCs, consoles, setup boxes, etc.
Normally, I buy a primary console for every TV in my home. This generation I may just buy two primary consoles for my gaming cave (Has two TVs) and then stream on all other devices. Not even sure if I will get to buying a secondary console platform.
Nintendo can't even run a decent gaming network never mind streaming through the cloud.
I love Nintendo but they would have to partner with a really cloud player to make this happen.
What he seems to be saying is specs vs practical world...
Specs say these consoles are fast. But, in the practical world when you make a new game with new features you find out if those specs translate to a real difference to implement the new features.
It is fine and dandy if the console has X GPU clock speed, Y CPU clock speed, and Z tflps.... But if you need X + A GPU clock speed, Y + B CPU clock speed, and Z + C tflps it really doesn't matter......

Sales figures seem to indicate that XBO did not go down further after BC.
That doesn't mean Sony did not badly outsell XBO. But, it could've gotten worse.
It seems as if the games on XB are not as bad as people would like you to believe. While some people like to trash XB, they are quietly making games people seem to be playing a lot.

Microsoft having 15 first party studios now is a great move. And those studios are producing.
Microsoft GamePass was a great move, especially GamePass Ultimate. And putting first party games on GamePass.
Microsoft's hardware architecture (like Sony's) is very strong looking for this next generation.
Microsoft providing exceptional BC (even improving some games) was a great move.
Xbox One failed not because of BC. But, because of the FUD about digital only and forcing Kinect on gamers.
If anything BC saved XBO from a further rout.
Yup, and if the current rate keeps up Nintendo will once again win the generation over Sony and Microsoft.
Remember the Wii outsold PS3 and 360.
And Nintendo are pure sales on consoles. Wii didn't have 60 different editions, slims, etc. These are just straight-up sales.
And again no real gameplay.
I am excited, but as with most games now-a-days we have seen trailers, but nothing on the gameplay front.

Can't wait to play the game. But, as with many other games, it seems there is no longer a need for gameplay in commercials or trailers anymore.
To me the issue is greater then ethnic background, color, religion, sexual alignment, political alignment, or whatever.

I would rather them fully remaster the entire series starting with the first game.

And how about gamers assess the quality of games based on what is created, not just on the tech they use?
It is just as sad as USA politics right now.... Everything is political there.... And it seems like gaming is extreme fanboyism right now.
The reality is that great games are still great games no matter what tech is used. I go and play...
I don't disagree with you with the caveat of "at this point in time".
There are many things that are created in tech that take time to get into the mainstream because they were attempted too early or people didn't understand the vision. Cloud is probably one of them that I think was just too early on attempting due to worldwide internet issues.
The concept is smart, but the practical implementation is still TBD. This is just like SSD. ...
Anyone thinking XB won this generation is delusional.
They lost the generation fair and square.
Then, spent the back half of the generation preparing for this next generation.
