My dear, did you just try to prove the existence of God through the use of your cleavage?

Exactly. The anime industry has gone downhill dramatically. Even when they try to adjust with the times by using YouTube and ads, it's still not good enough. Profits are still down. It's nothing like how it used to be. There isn't much worse than piracy for these companies quite honestly, and the only reason why it's rampant is that man is naturally greedy.

People act like Sony and Funimation are the dirty business men of Wall Street or something. They're ...

I sure hope so. I honestly can't believe we're having this conversation. How can people consider sex to be more harmful than violence? It boggles my mind.

I was just playing Digital Devil Saga 2 the other day where I watched one of my team mates being eaten. Half his body was gone. It was absolutely disgusting. If something like that can get past the ESRB, why not sex? Seriously, some people...

I think people forget we were rooting for Microsoft too when they dropped the ban hammer. Plain and simple, piracy is stupid. You're hurting the industry as well as yourself.

This.

I mean, did the guy miss all the interviews where the employees expressed how much they missed being a relatively unknown studio. Um... that's pretty humble.

Am I the only one surprised at how everyone is ignoring Strange Journey? wtf?!?

Strange Journey was my favorite this year, but I haven't played much of the rest so I should probably pick up a few and try 'em out.

I saw Nier at GameStop for $15. I think I'll bite.

Another reason for the poor sales is probably for the fact that most gamers with a 360 in Japan probably have a PS3 as well. If they were going to buy it, they had probably already done so for the PS3. What possible reason would they have to buy it on the 360?

lol I believe each of my Top 10 games this year has at least received one GotY award: God of War III, Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, Heavy Rain, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Alan Wake, etc. I'm still debating which I liked the most. I'll probably do a write up in a month or two. I still think Final Fantasy XIII deserves more love than it got though.

I know exactly what you mean. That whirlwind of emotions is what I refer to as artistic merit. The most memorable scene/level for me in God of War III was when Hera was getting shit faced. I could literally feel her depression as I looked on the ruined landscape: all of which our hand caused. Now that's depth!

No game has ever made me feel that way. And yes, while rare, it makes it all the more worth it. For those that played the God of War Collection shortly before God o...

Hmm... I got it for the 360, but don't have Live. If the multiplayer's as good as you say it is, maybe I'll just pick it up for the PS3 and give it a spin. Though, honestly, I don't think I'll be spending 300+ hours on anything. Thanks for the write-up though.

I certainly didn't play for the story as GOWII was nothing to write home about, but I thought GOWIII had an exceptional story full of artistic merit what with Pandora and the symbolism towards the end. Personally, I thought the last three hours of the game was beautifully executed. Easily one of my favorite endings for a video game. At this point, I'm not even for sure I want GOWIV.

So far, it's one of only two sleeper hits on my list. Vanquish and Bayonetta own! Enslaved wasn't that great. Critics were delusional. They're saying Enslaved had the best story this year. I often wonder if I even played the same game. The ending failed to explain much of anything besides... I can't wait 'til the PSP overtakes the Game Boy Advance in terms of overall sales. Let them try telling us the PSP failed then. PSP is at the very least 65 million units strong, probably more so now. The GBA managed to shift 82 million units during its lifetime. Sony has successfully managed to split the market, I wouldn't be surprised if they overtake Nintendo's home turf with the PSP2.

Completely agreed. I typically prefer shorter games nowadays. Better to be missed than to overstay your welcome.

A recent game I played, Sly 2, being a prime example. The first half was amazing! After that, it dragged like you wouldn't believe. A platformer, mind you, should never exceed 20 hours. Sly 2 is a 30-40 hour game. I actually started hating the game as I got further in the story. I just didn't care anymore.

5-8 hour games are of perfect leng...

I highly doubt you've dabbled in programming. Otherwise you would have known that it's impossible to come up with a true random number. The closest we can get is by setting it according to the system's time after having manipulated the variable with various algorithms. If you declare a variable constant it makes it impossible for that value to be changed. It's a way of controlling read/write access. That way other functions/classes can't change said variable.

Not just that but downloading 50 Gigabyte files is just plain stupid. It will take most people a week to download such a huge file on typical broadband connections. Is it really worth it? If they want to waste their time rather than money, that's their choice, but it's still stupid.

They optimized the engine so they could output more textures with higher resolution. The engine is still relatively similar. Besides the code adjustments, they've also completely redone the particle system, which is what you see in the burning house level. All that wallpaper burning up and the individual flames themeselves... that's all thanks to the new particle system.

It still runs on Uncharted 2's engine. Just with some changes. However, that doesn't mean ...

I really want to pick these up, but I want a physical copy. I fear how much space this trilogy will take up on my hard drive. Granted, I can always buy a bigger drive, but I would rather spend that money on a couple games. Ubisoft needs to think beyond the digital market.
