At least the game makes fun of them this time around.
You can't die. It might result frustrating for some, but man, I love dying and having to repeat things from the start.
That's just me, I like challenge. I'm sure I'll still enjoy it, but I'd enjoy it more if it was somewhat...hard.
Not like other Kirby games have had remarkable challenge, though, they were easy as pie, as well.
Older games just were harder to beat, but they still were actually pretty short in length.
Megaman, Metroid, Zelda, Mario, Sonic, hell, most of the games were actually pretty short once you knew how to beat them, to the point you could do so in a few hours.
No one can resist Poyo~
That trailer was awesome.
Makes me kinda sad it's for PSP instead of the PS3. Hopefully NIS will make more PS3 titles in the future.
See the trailer. Most of the names are like that, as well.
It's the other way around. Capcom let Clover, AKA Platinum go, and now look at them.
.."Replay value".
Eh, if you just put down a game after the credits roll, this ain't for you.
If you replay games and like beating high scores and stuff like that, you'll love this.
This will be a cult classic, too bad it'll sell poorly.
@despair
My guess is than they actually just made the game the way it should be. 4-6 hours of gameplay for one run, but hell, have you seen how much gam...
Than alot of reviews are going to cut down scores for:
Not having multiplayer.
Being somewhat short.
Despite mechanics being fantastic, there are a few shortcomings here and there when it comes to level design (You have to wait a few seconds for doors to open, elevators, and enemies to appear).
Also, see my post up there to clear off your doubts. I was kinda worried too, but talked to him and realized I'd still buy it. ...
Around 4-6 hours for the main campaign, although who knows if cutscenes and restarts are counted. Either way, talked to someone who got the game already, and said the level variety and everything was actually well done, with around 50-60 stages, there's a good challenge in the game, and the story is actually somewhat good.
He said the reason why it's short it's because you can speedrun through said levels. 50 Levels (5 Acts) that you can beat in around 5-10 minute...
And since when Ninja Theory is known for gameplay?
Just look at Enslaved, for god's sake.
It's mainly because of the short lenght, price and the fact that it just doesn't feels like an old Sonic game, despite what they promised.
It feels just waay too clunky for a good Sonic game if you look at how glorious they were back then.
As long as it looks good on the eye, I'm fine with it.
You probably keep a close eye on upcoming games, know how they might turn out, read reviews, etc.
Advertisement is directed toward those who have a console but don't read gaming news nor know about these games, and say:
"Hey, I saw this on TV! It looked cool, perhaps I should buy it."
Well, yes, you're right. All these companies can't take on Square Enix mainly because their franchises are pretty niche- small fanbases that cater to people with somewhat weird tastes, while Square Enix has a bigger fanbase and appeal to alot of people instead.
You could call Final Fantasy the Call of Duty of JRPGs- Quality? Don't make me laugh. But these games sell, either way.
And hey, I like XSeed. Ever heard of YS and Half-Minute Hero?
...
Everyone of these companies deliver great games- it's sad they don't get the recognition they deserve. Although that's just my opinion.
For the companies the Article mentions:
Nippon Ichi Software:
Usually I LOVE their games for the quirky humor, among other stuff. Problem lies when they stick to Sprites and appeal to only the WEABOOS BETWEEN WEABOOS and HARDCORE BETWEEN HARDCORES with their infinite grinding, ridiculous side-boss...
A conversation between two higher-ups at Bethesda:
-Hey, you know, we can use a shitload of engines...
-FUCK THAT, LET'S USE THE GAMEBRYO EVERYONE COMPLAINED ABOUT IN FALLOUT 3!
-YOU'RE A GENIOUS, BRO. PEOPLE SURE LOVE FREEZES, GLITCHES, BAD GRAPHICS AND CRASHES EVERYWHERE!
You CAN upgrade the Suit while you progress. For example, didn't liked how fast the suit overheated? You can upgrade that to ROCKET SLIDE TO HELL AND BACK FOR EVEN MORE TIME!...
...Or so I readed somewhere.
Yeah, the game seems like it's going to be awesome. 'Sides, it's motherfucking Platinum Games.
@cochise313
Best Hack n' Slash this year, bro.
OH NO IT ACTUALLY HAS COMBAT DEPTH
0/10 I WANT TO MASH SQUARE LIKE IN GOD OF WAR BOO
On a side note related to the trailer:
Oh god. Another awesome trailer. Gotta love that sound of the shotgun...HNNG.
Oh Japan. You never fail to amaze me.
