Oh, come on. I thought we all moved on the stupid internet speak that promotes such uses of said words.

...Guess not, what a shame.

Anyways, that aside, I can't help but feel that the idea of "unlocking" damage makes the game seem too forgiving, and it's kinda silly, overall.

Should've just put a "hardcore" mode or something. Ah well, at least they're patching it for the Arcade Mode.

Also, ...

It's common to say that "JRPGs don't evolve", when, in fact, alot of these games are different in gameplay, asthetics, etc.

Honestly, thinking every JRPG is the same is kind of common, but couldn't be farther from the truth.

As I said, there are alot of JRPGs that implement alot of gameplay mechanics and ideas. Look at Recettear, for example. A game that's a mix of a business sim and a dungeon crawler.

For another ex...

Exactly, bro.

I'd say that a game with a good number of flaws shouldn't get anything higher than a 7.

But hey, we've also seen buggy games getting 8, 9s and hell, even Game of the Year awards.

If a game has a flaw, they should lower the score. If the game has ALOT of flaws, the score should be REALLY low.

Well, that's how I think reviews are supposed to be, anyways.

Although honestly, I disagree with him when he says For Answer is the best in the series. It's a good step in the right direction, indeed, but no AC game until now has surpassed Last Raven.

That, and when he mentions AC5 is going to be faster, well...they actually said they'd be going down to the older AC mechanics with -very- limited EN and slower-paced.

Honestly, I'm exited about it too, and I hope we see an overseas release next year.

Hm, honestly, those "complaints" from the internet are nothing more than silly excuses and generalizations.

As I've always said, alot of JRPGs break the norm. They just don't have Final Fantasy in the name and, sadly, get overlooked.

Hell, I think the only ones taking misteps are the big companies. This generation, I've played some great, GREAT Japanese Role Playing Games, such as Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Nier and Recettear, to n...

And I completly share the author's feelings.

It's just as he wrote, "I just hope that people who look at Catherine give it a chance. That’s all. A game that aims to look at sexuality in a meaningful way and isn’t afraid to make you a normal guy to do it, is a game worth paying attention to."

I am kinda interested in the game itself, and will probably pick up GT5 sooner or later, but yes, my main motive to visit GT5 articles is just amusement, although I also wanna see the game's fair share of flaws just for curiosity, and perhaps keep them in mind when I'm shopping.

And thanks for providing it, although you're going kinda off-topic. I do not approve this 'cause rules are rules, but believe me, I would otherwise.

Also, stop abusing...

"Like a simulator"?

A real simulator would throw you against all odds and make you WIN, instead of feeling pity 'cause you're new at the game and making things into casual easy mode.

Just saying.

@Nitrowolf2

Actually, when you think about it, these guys you're racing at even in the lowest of levels will have comparable, if not superior, skills to yours.

And honestly, if they're atte...

I really, REALLY doubt there's people willing to go to such lenghts to pay 95$ for the DLC.

Hell, they could've bought the Collector's Edition if they truly had that much money to spend.

EDIT!

@_IFRIT_

...Well.

...I'm actually surprised people paid 25$ for a little DLC car that could've been available later on the PSN store for uh...1/10th of that price, probably.

So you have to grind to get damage?

I mean, sure, that's sweet, but they could've done full-damage at least for Arcade Mode (That, if I am not wrong, it's like a "free" mode...right?)

@soundslike

Hm. Interesting, well, at least they're fixing things.

Honestly, while the "standard" cars (as well as some things I've seen floating around here and there) are disappointing, if I ever get the...

If the game has negatives, howcome it's a 10/10?

After all, doesn't that perfect score means the game has no negatives and thus, it's flawless?

@never_waste_a_bullet down there:

Flaws are flaws, moreover, ignoring them would usually show bias from your part. Also, I'd pretty much say that alot of critics have said otherwise; the flaws are an annoyance.

However, I have not played the game, so how should I now? ...

Looking at those screenshots and videos, Gran Turismo 5 isn't really as pretty as I thought it would be.

Oh well.

G4TV actually doing a pretty well-done review?

I personally disagree with the "perfect" score, as the game has flaws, but it's like they seriously understood what the game's charm was.

...I'm actually pretty surprised. Hell, MORE than surprised.

"Tim Schafer is of the belief that some of the “most creative games” out on the market lately have come from XBL and PSN."

That's 'cause companies would rather milking a franchise and playing it safe than funding off an original idea that may not appeal to some, after all, full-retail games are quite expensive to make, as he explains. Smaller budgets allow better ideas.

Wich is also the reason games try too hard to appeal to a broader audien...

Honestly, this kind of manual is something we won't see overseas, sadly.

Oh well. Hoping for an US release of both the DS and the PS3 version.
