4 looks pretty good, but there's no denying 3's sprites were awful.

Completly awful.

@Stealth down there.

The texture resolution was nothing special, and the backgrounds of the Item World, among other things needed some work.

The only thing that actually looked -somewhat- good were the character portraits.

Ah well, at least they're improving things this time around.

"While it's hardly a deal breaker, it's still mighty disappointing; the total immersion from the likes of Need For Speed: Shift wouldn't have worked without the ability to turn the HUD off, and driving round Tokyo in the middle of the night, in cockpit view, would be much better without all those distracting and immersion-breaking numbers found in GT5's pretty huge HUD."

If a game has flaws, it should not get a perfect score (And if the flaws grow bigger, it should not get anything near a high score.)

Just saying. Albeit we both share our kind of...criticism, I guess? for IGN.

A review is basically a criticism against the game.

In other words, it should point out flaws objectively, as well as what the title itself did right.

If they seriously do a review just saying "hurr GT5 is good lol" it'll be as laughable as the one-page reviews that consist of "We didn't liked this game 'cause we didn't get it and you don't press X to win", the only difference is that there won't be people mad for s...

I particullary liked this trailer- the game looks pretty good with the in-game engine, and shows the freaky/horror side of the game.

Pretty awesome!

I mean, if you look at the cast, Atlus pulled out some serious talent for the Japanese Voiceover.

Problem is, Atlus NA isn't known for leaving Japanese voices in their games, but instead they usually replace them with English voiceovers (That aren't bad, but not great, either).

Then again, that probably happens thanks to space constraints, and if they can fit the data in a Blu Ray, they should leave Japanese Voiceovers for the PS3 version at least.

Animations that consist of a set group of characters fornicating in different ways.

After all, they're more of you know, games that require a certain degree of skill and practice instead of "Press X to win".

Honestly, if things keep being like this, I can't wait to see how every "AAA" game will do nothing else than play itself.

You're forgettin' Bayonetta.

Ah, not like I really care about all these "GOTY" awards, since most of the time they're REALLY off.

Heavy Rain is basically what this game should avoid being.

It was just too linear for an investigation/Visual/Graphic Novel kind of game.

This should be more on the lines of Phoenix Wright, as I said before, than like Heavy Rain.

There's a reason they call Heavy Rain a "Movie with QTEs", you know. It's just too simple and linear, gives away everything, etc.

Actually, if you actually bother reading, the article states the material cost of 38$ is for the 100$ Move bundle.

Just saying.

I'm expecting the complete opposite- I don't want another GTAIV Re-skinned with new characters and you get it.

L.A. Noire, in my opinion, should be more among the lines of a Visual Novel/Adventure game like Phoenix Wright (Or well, you get the idea) and less like GTAIV in the 40s.

More murder solving, puzzles and cases, less shooting around like a retard.

Honestly, if they do the "Detective" part right AND make you think- th...

BioWare's best games were co-developed with Obsidian/Black Isle (Or well, part of their staff at least).

@Blacktric

If I'm not wrong, Baldur's Gate 1/2 (Or well, the 2nd one is the one I'm sure they worked at together), the first KOTOR (The second one was fully developed by Obsidian), among others I don't really remember at the moment.

Well, that's if I'm not wrong, though. I'm quite sure I am not.

That's because those people who make indie games usually grew up with older titles that were very, very hard, and also take inspiration of other "Doujin" games when it comes down to difficulty.

I mean, remember those green things in Recettear? Yeah.

Crescent Pale Mist is a pain in the ass, too. (In a good way for me!)

And the Gundemonium Collection...ugh. You get the idea.

But hey, that's why they're fun...

Firs toff, for ME, there wasn't a really good reason to buy a 400$ machine.

No, really, there wasn't.

Anyways, that aside, it wasn't necessary, but eh, it's an habit.

And, last, are you really implying I -may- be a fanboy?

Oh, come on.

Just 'cause I saw too many flaws on the PS3 (Although it IS the console I play most of my games on right now), it does NOT means I am a fanboy of any kind....

Dumbing down RPGs IS doing something wrong.

That aside, this looks like a generic shooter.

Oh dear.
