They told them the first game was too sexist.
So they made a second one with younger characters and even less clothing.
I must say, my own experience, while not as dark, has still been quite...unique, should we say?
The folk at Konami are wizards, though, that's for sure. To keep me engaged in a game with looping dialogue and such a slow pace for so long, it's nothing short of amazing. And those looking for a nice way to periodically turn on their DS, as well as fall deeper into the rabbit hole of this whole freaky business of dating sims and 2D girlfriends, well...give it a try.
No, the animations are awful at times. They're not like they were in either Fallout 3 or Oblivion, but holy hell if they aren't still lacking.
A game with the flaws Skyrim has is nowhere near "one of the best games of all time".
Not that I dislike it or anything, just saying.
@StraightPath
Of course, but I doubt that, to be called one of the best games of all time, Skyrim has an excuse to feature its horrid combat system, cringe-worthy use of archaic english, and the technical issues present, all which other games of the same genre don't feature, or have at least tried...
Actually, they did try the attack combination in Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, which had a fairly decent combat system, and brilliant co-op. It's a shame you needed to connect GBAs into the GameCube to actually play co-op, though...
Well gee, this sure took me by surprise! I wasn't expecting an announcement so soon.
I think Sony actually said this was aimed towards smaller titles. Not that bigger ones don't usually get HD collections and the likes or anything.
...We're all bound to find bugs given the game's size, yes, but such things as freezing, crashing, or that save data issue some guys are experiencing on the PS3 are inexcusable.
I can forgive various instances of "lolgamebyro" regarding silly physics and whatnot- but when you can't complete quests, and the damn thing crashes more often than not, well...yeah. It's pretty damn poor QA. Shit happens, sure- but not when you can avoid it. And Bethesda cou...
I wonder how long will it be before a mod comes out that lets you ride magical, flying ponies and fight airbone against dragons?
EDIT: It seems I wasn't the only one who had this thought cross his mind as soon as he read "flying horses" or checked out the attached video; it's one of the highest-rated comments in the comment section of the video.
Read the review. It mentions the myriad of flaws Skyrim has, in a highly negative manner- I'd barely call it "favorable", score aside.
Well, look at those textures and that horrid combat with a lack of flinching or any feedback from enemies! Not to mention the axe-swinging animation that makes the weapon disappear for half a second and the awful writing, alongside the handholding dialogue...
What a great-looking game!
Considering games will only get bigger and many enjoy actually having a physical copy in their hands, I don't see digital downloads actually taking over until much, much later, if ever. At least in consoles.
Nah, not really. It's not Chromehounds campaign tier. Now, that WAS a tutorial for the multiplayer.
Though Uncharted 2 still suffered from the "all movement is halted while the event occurs", and it was so reliant on those any subsequent playthrough felt like rewatching a very basic movie- just the same thing over and over, with no variation. The article nailed it in the last line- "And while you are at it, give us some games instead of those interactive movies!".
Nonetheless, kaveti, gaming has never been a particularly "deep" hobby- not that it needs to be. There is place for both shallow shooters of silliness and thought-provoking experiences; not that the latter isn't terribly absent from any medium in general, but that's an unrelated topic.
Heh, I actually remember that Atelier Rorona did pretty much what you talked about in this blog regarding Mana bars/points, having synthesis, skills and whatnot take away your HP.
And you know what? It was a terribly unbalanced system. You could heal HP with HP which basically made the healing resource infinite, to recover from high-level syntheses you only needed to purchase a healing potion from the shop and, overall, you would be able to easily break the game was it not be...
I just love how a disagreeing, actually different opinion is held in a negative manner rather than an equal one.
Whatever happened to individuality? Reviewers also have their right to showcase it. And, as the review stands, the score is much fitting to the opinions of the reviewer himself.
Except The Witcher 2, as good of a game it was, didn't even match the amount of role-playing, character-building, choice-picking and good writing that New Vegas had.
As it goes, New Vegas was by far the better "RPG".
It's not only the multiplayer, it's the core game itself that's througly lacking.
Uncharted is really like that generic summer flick: entertaining while it lasts, but not much more. Humongous budget but little substance, especially in the areas that matter.
I find it amusing that someone who is willing to spend $99 in optional accesories and a mediocre game can call out others for not "understanding what value is".
The irony in your statement is truly baffling.
@yesmynameissumo
What good do you get out of motion controls in itself, anyways? What value do they offer?
Another control scheme, usually much more awkward and less rewarding than a typical one? That's it, ...
