Nope. If you watch that "Truth behind RISING" video, he says he contacted Platinum.
And you're right, it's not a Metal Gear SOLID game. It's Metal Gear Rising; it doesn't have "Solid" in the title.
I wish people got that through their thick, obviously immature minds :V
@despair
Except it IS a Metal Gear game, as it takes place in the same universe. Have you never heard the concept of "spinoff"? Refer to bitboi's comment for more insight on this, as I believe it's the perfect respo...
Honestly, the 2010 version got cancelled for a reason. I mean, it does sound pretty neat, but try imagining a whole game centered about cutting things in slow-motion. About 10 hours of that.
Doesn't sound so fun now, does it?
It WAS corny, and for a reason. It's Platinum Games.
Go look at Vanquish or Bayonetta, corniness is basically their signature.
Actually, they specified the game would also be running at 720p. :V
"He was funny"
Forcing video game references stupidly just to show that "WE GAEMRS NOW GUISE XD" is well, uh, stupid. And if you laughed at any of the pitiful, completly lame stances of forced comedy that were present throughout the whole show, then you should be ashamed of yourself.
Not really, they actually are just producing 300. I can see the price skyrocketing after a while.
As for me, I think I'll pick up the Special Edition- the cards and the dice totally pander to my tastes.
"And how the hell could Raiden pick up a giant fucking robot and toss him half a mile in the air? So stupid...."
He did worse things in MGS4, bro.
@PirateThom
He dispatches a group of Metal Gears in MGS4. He dispatches a Metal Gear in this.
I don't really see the issue? Raiden got pretty goddamn Mary Sue in MGS4, and this is just taking it to the extreme, most likely to make fun of it.
This is as much of a Metal Gear game as AC!D was.
Just saying, for those who can't comprehend that a franchise CAN branch off to more than just one genre or gameplay style.
There's no "Tactical Espionage Action" since the subtitle is "Lightning Bolt Action".
It's not even a follow-up, it's a spinoff. It is Metal Gear, it takes place in the same universe. It isn't, however, "Solid".
Learn what the word "spin-off" means, it might save you from making a fool out of yourself. Hell, this applies to most in this comment section.
On the other hand, I wasn't really interested in MGR until this trailer.
Platinum Games?
SOLD.
Blighttown, in other words?
Oh my, Dark Souls and Skyrim crossover! Now perhaps Skyrim's combat system won't suck.
From what I've heard about it, Xillia is far from being "their best game". Ni no Kuni, in the other hand, looks fantastic.
...Because they're keeping the tradition of silent main characters in RPGs. Everything else will be spoken, I'd imagine, but silent protagonists are the best protagonists.
Welcome to the world of RPGs. Enjoy your stay!
On the plus side, the game will actually play like a role-playing game instead of an action game with choices conveying two false dilemmas, and neither being exactly noteworthy. That and Dungeon Siege 3 was relatively free of bugs, so yeah, nah.
The THQ part worries me, but the Obsidian part gives me hope.
Surely you can't, but these glitches really aren't related to the size or scope of the game; it's just a bad engine, and bad programming. Memory leaks, crashes and the fact that magic resistance went poof with a patch (the latter still being baffling- like, SERIOUSLY?) aren't exactly related to the myriad of things to do in Skyrim.
Besides, other games of similar scopes (See: Rockstar's games) manage to go through with only minor bugs, whereas Bethesda'...
I guess the folk at Bethesda thought that the 360 version was far too stable for a game they developed.
They're not talking about Metal Gear Rising, they're talking about the older build that got cancelled (for a reason).
In other words, not only did you pitifully troll, you even failed horribly while you were at it.
