FFS, they have already said that the beta wasn't to test the software, which had already been tested and bug fixed to hell and gone. The beta was to test server infrastructure, so nothing about what you played was a demo, seeing how it was old code and NOT representative of the final product. Stop throwing around misinformed opinions as though they were fact.
@A-Glorious-Dawn
Meh, 3rd person shooters just don't appeal to me that much. 3rd person action games like GTA are great, but games that focus on just shooting in 3rd person I find to be rather dull. I guess that's why I'm not a Gears of War fan.
@gamingdroid
Right there with you. Well, except for the PC needing an upgrade. My PC has actually gotten the most attention lately, thanks largely to Rage, the BF3 beta, and The Old Republic beta.
Considering that the 360 usually gets all of the attention, you would think you would be able to just chill for once and let another platform get some attention.
Basing that on an average familiarity of a gamer with firearms, the physical conditioning required for just about every prolonged military encounter, the survival skills that would be needed for guerrilla style combat against a superior force, and the ability to get along on a team without complaining about kill stealing, or the temperance to not run up and teabag a dead alien after getting a no-scope headshot, I'd say probably not.
You can call this a beta all you want, but if they've already gone through bug fixes and balancing then you might as well call it a demo/stress test. Betas are supposed to be the latest code, giving testers the ability to find bugs and balance issues and give feedback that helps shape the game. So far I am not impressed.

First off, just to show your ignorance, There was no Battlefield 1. It was Battlefield 1942, which cemented franchise as a popular team based shooter by introducing large scale maps, vehicular combat, and soldier classes. Battlefield 2 introduced the battlefield commander and squad leaders, which in my opinion was one of the best features in a multiplayer shooter ever. BF 2142 introduced the Titan gameplay mode, and still used the battlefield commander and sq...
There actually is a difference in the console versions. The problem is each one has an advantage the negates the other's advantage. In the underground portions of the game, the 360 looks rather washed out. The blacks are more of a blue, and the colors look really dull, while the PS3's black levels are far superior, and the color pallet looks really well defined. Once you get to the outdoor areas, though, it's a complete reversal. The colors on the PS3 look muted, while the 36...
2 6950s in crossfire, unlocked to 6970 for me. Runs everything so far at max settings with little to no frame rate loss. BF3 alpha was nice and smooth, so I should be fine.
Eh, the few times I've seen them pop up I'd kind of have to agree, although this is the first time I've seen the ice elemental.
@whydoyouask
Except then some immature little kid will come along and give you a negative bubble vote for bad language.

Not to nitpick, but I think you need to check your facts. Yes, the space shuttle runs on technology made prior to 1981. NASA, however, has far more powerful computers than simple laptops in the command center. NASA doesn't just launch a few people into space now and then, they constantly launch unmanned craft and satellites and capture and process tons of data from those sources. They house their own internal network servers, which are way more powerful than ...
You've got to love all of the disagrees. Just because someone says something that you don't like doesn't make it true. Bethesda has already confirmed that the PC version will look better, so disagreeing with a statement that has already been confirmed just makes you look like a crybaby.
(wonder how many disagrees I'll get)
The author of the article is the one who mentioned the PC. All Pete said was that he couldn't tell he was playing the PS3 version, which if anything hints that the 360 and PS3 versions look alike. Pete didn't mention the PC at all, so it's the poor job of the author that draws this connection, which has no validation.
On one hand, not bad. On the other, lead your target when using a bow/crossbow. Use a larger axe for slaying a dragon, something with some heft to it that you can get some weight behind when swinging. And for crying out loud, if you down a dragon in one swing, don't take the chance walking up to it. Pull out the crossbow and put some bolts into it to make sure it's dead before walking up to it. Amateur...
As someone whose job it is to deal with abusive customers, I can tell you that the whole notion of "the customer is always right" is bullshit. Yes, a company that wants to sell you something should do everything they can to earn your business, but there has to be a line. Abusive customers tend to be self righteous pricks who feel the world owes them everything they ask for and throw fits when they don't get their way. I applaud people like Pete who actually stand up to their ...
WARNING: This post may contain offensive material.
I really want to meet someone who was offended by one line of code that they never would have seen had someone else not found it first. And I really want to meet someone lacking enough intelligence to realize that the phrase "feminist whore" is complete rubbish.
I'd really like to take one person who was offended by this and make them spend an evening in my house just so they can hear all o...
You've got my bubble vote, but don't worry, you can keep the tampons.
First off, "Feminist whore" is such a total oxymoron, so that right there should take the wind out of anyone's sails who seriously want to get upset about it.
And second, people really need to stop getting offended by every little thing. "Oh boo-hoo, someone said a bad word." Grow up or please, quit wasting oxygen.
@chadachada123
The one thing about Oblivion's interface for the PC that made it manageable is that there was a mod released fairly quickly that fixed the issues most PC gamers had with it. Personally, though, Bethesda should have been the ones to take care of that, instead of leaving it up to someone else.
I really don't care which platform is the lead, so long as the PC version looks and plays/responds like a PC game. Sadly, most developers don'...
