I tried to like VIII, but the moment I realized the main character would never grow a pair of balls I just gave up on it. I honestly didn't think it was possible for a hero to whine more than Luke Skywalker, but Squall totally managed to pull it off.

Aside from improving on what VII already laid the groundwork for, I have yet to see anything that any of the proceeding titles did better. And I say this as someone who would never give the title of "Best Final Fanta...

While I will always personally prefer VI over any other Final Fantasy game, and Chrono Trigger over any other Square Enix game, VII was still a remarkable game, and a breakthrough for the series in terms of making the change from pixel sprites to polygons. In terms of story, I again would have to say that VI is my favorite, but VII is a very close second that has yet to be topped. Not to say that they haven't made a decent Final Fantasy since VII (I liked IX, and XII was good as well) b...

Actually, you can easily have Tomb Raider without the DD's. Just because Lara Croft is portrayed as an attractive female does not mean that all she is is an attractive female. The character brings plenty of attributes other than physical appearance that add to the games. And let's not forget that the original games, with their extremely low polygon count, didn't do a lot to accentuate her physical beauty.

And for that matter, even the re-imagined Lara is stil...

While I have been a loyal GTA fan since the original, I'm gonna have to call you out for being a bit too fanboyish in saying the driving/racing in GTA V will be better than the Need For Speed games. The vehicle handling in a GTA game has never been anything to brag about, while Criterion's first foray into the NFS franchise was a solid arcade racer.

That being said, GTA V will be a first day purchase for me, regardless of what else is out. I'll also be picking...

While I personally don't agree with Blizzard's move here, you make it sound like this is a permanent thing. Yes, you paid full price, and yeah for the first three days you are stuck with the "starter edition", but you get the full game after. It's not like they are taking your money and then forcing you to deal with a small portion of the game forever.

Again, I don't personally agree with the wait, but 3 days is not that big of a deal.

I think the "sinful" part is lusting after hot women. Which is why I think the people who made up popular religion and all of its rules oh so long ago were also ones who didn't get invited to those kinds of parties.

Yes, there are some unfortunate people out there who don't know how to draw the line between lusting after an attractive woman and being a complete scumbag towards an attractive woman, but it's a small percentage. For the remaining billio...

Which is just a painful reminded of another game I was looking forward to that never got to see the light of day.

I guess I'm kinda fuzzy on what the problem was with Red Dead Redemption as well. I bought it for the PS3 and loved it. I also have it for the 360 since my friend who gave me his 360 after my second one got the RROD also gave me his game collection, and that was included. I've played it on both systems and I don't notice a difference, other than the fact that I hate the 360 analog stick layout and made a complaint about it almost once an hour while playing.

@big-bertha - Probably because your comment has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Not only that, but Sony won't have anything to do with including Move support. That would be Rockstar's department since, you know, THEY'RE MAKING THE GAME. That statement alone pretty much places your comment into the same junk pile as sending a letter to a fan site asking why they didn't include X feature when making the game.

As for the release date, while I'm cer...

@Diver

How do you know that what we saw wasn't someone else playing the game before the show and everything that was happening was actual in-game footage? Yes, it is dodgey when they have someone pretend to be playing a game, but that doesn't mean it wasn't actually played that way. As Nimblest-Assassin said, it's embarrassing to have your demo go wrong because the guy playing it doesn't do something correctly.

Hell, watch the demo f...

@Persistantthug

I love how non-PC gamers forget about the fact that there are such things as graphics options for those less fortunate PC gamers who don't have the right specs to handle the most intense settings. PC games are designed with top-end systems in mind, but are scalable to allow the game to run just fine on lower end systems. This isn't a new feature. It's kinda like how proper multiplatform releases work. They're built with the most powerful ...

I call bullshit. Is it seriously not possible to have the MoCap actor say the lines so that the animating software gets the movement for the mouth correct and then have Ironside record the lines while watching a reel of the animations to make sure he's matching the character? I'm no professional film maker, but I'm pretty sure animated films have been doing this since they first made a cartoon where people talked.

Just because you fail at a game doesn't mean it wasn't done properly. I had no problem with the handling in Hot Pursuit, and neither did a lot of other people if the amount of close multiplayer races I was always involved in is anything to go by.

Need For Speed (outside of the Shift games) is all about arcade racing, which Criterion does well. Blackbox isn't what it used to be. They gave us awesome games like Undergound 1 & 2 and Most Wanted, but then gav...

I totally agree about customization. That, along with the lack of an urban setting, were the only things I was disappointed about with Hot Pursuit. Bring back the Underground and original Most Wanted style customization, and give a good mix of country side and urban environments, and give us free roam between races, and I'll be in Need For Speed heaven.

Pretty sure I'm the only one who read "Enders Project" as "Ender's Project" and seriously wondered how they were going to turn the Ender's Game book series into a video game.

@Dlacy13g

Actually, the judge proceeding over the case in question is considering blocking incoming shipments of new units from China and suspending the sale of ALL units currently within the United States. Seeing how all models use the codec in question, the injunction would affect all models of 360s, not just the 4GB and 250GB.

While yes, a lot of people already own the console, this would prevent anyone from obtaining a new one, which means that the i...

@Jazz4108

It's so nice when gamers can come together in support of one another in times like this. Wouldn't it be a dick move for some asshole to rub something like this in the face of someone who doesn't prefer the console the game is being released on first? 'Cause we're all gamers, right? And we are all entitled to our opinion about what we play games on, right? Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that competition breeds better products. Or ...

That's such insightful commentary from someone who's NEVER PLAYED THE GODDAMN GAME! You can say all you want about the marketing, you've actually experienced it, but until you have actually played the game, you actually have no idea what it's like.

Oblivion DLC was never $30. The minor content releases, such as Horse Armor, Frostcrag Spire, etc, at most cost around $2.50, while the Knights of the Nine (which was dubbed an expansion, but was more of a large quest add-on) went for $10 on consoles and $19.99 on PC (due to the fact that the PC version was only physical media at first, and came with all other DLC). The price for the downloadable version for the PC was set at $9.99. The Shivering Isles expansion was released for $30, but w...

Considering they've been proclaiming that DLC for Skyrim will follow along with the Fallout DLC model (i.e. no more small content DLC but instead things more along the lines of micro-expansions) then I'd say yeah, it should be worth it. Hopefully they will start releasing new DLC every 4 months or so.

Broken or not, I have enjoyed the hell out of Skyrim, and any excuse to come back to it is fine by me.
