GTA IV PC version isn't a decent comparison. That port is one of the ones that is well-known for being very poorly-optimized, a poor console port. People with beast rigs even today get random frame drops for no reason in that game.
Thankfully, there's very little chance that the PC version of GTA V (we know it's coming, it's just a matter of when) will suffer from that.
The only game I know of that did true 1080p60fps was Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection on PS3. Not mind-blowing since it was based on the arcade version, which in turn was an updated version of the original PS2/Arcade release. Still, it was a full 1080p framebuffer and ran at 60fps at all times.
There were probably a few indie games and PSN exclusive games that did 1080p, the kind of games that aren't too GPU-bound and don't require much beef, but I don't directly know...

I remember people saying that back then, lol. I've been playing all sorts of FPS since the 90's though, I'm legit tired of brown/gray/black/red FPS with muted color palettes and whatnot.
I would LOVE a new Quake. I honestly don't know why Quake 4 wasn't more popular, besides the lackluster map selection, the gameplay was just as good as Quake 3's. Quake 4's graphics still look great to this day, a testament to Carmack and his team's coding prowess with their id Tech engines.
Hopefully they can make a comeback. I'm just tired of all these generic modern-day military shooters. Old-school arcade action is where it's at!
Doesn't matter if that map is real or not... Rockstar has said GTA V's map will be bigger than SA's, GTA IV's, and Red Dead Redemption's all put together, in other words: BLOODY MASSIVE.
I mean, this game will last people a long time. I just hope the story stays good throughout, but I have faith in Rockstar's writers. I tried to re-play San Andreas over the years, and I never finish it because the story becomes stupid and gets boring with all the nons...

What you just said is ridiculous. DX11.1 is nothing more than a marketing scheme to get more gamers to upgrade to Windows 8. Besides that, it hardly offers anything mind-blowing visually and a lot of devs will probably ignore it. That being said, I'm pretty sure I heard that DX11 will be available on PS4 as well, though that would be odd since it's a MS-developed API.

First off, there's no games out today that even use more than 4GB of RAM on a PC. Most I've ever seen personally was a little over 2GB. So there's no game that would need a full 8 or even 7GB.
