Marvel has the rights to all Marvel comics characters for use in video games. Its the movie rights that they don't have for certain characters.
I definitely would have picked an under served genre like car combat or something. With their experience in game design and balance they could have made something special that really stood out, especially with Cliff's rep.

I'd love to play a good Macross game. Last one I played was last year (Macross 30), had to import it. Was pretty cool but it didn't have yaw control for realistic control settings. Arcade controls did the job well enough, though. On the plus side it had almost every craft from every Macross series except Macross Delta.

Its all preference. To some people, like myself, offset left stick feels weird and uncomfortable. Just depends on what you're used to.
Does it have an offline career mode?
SE have grown way too big. They're like dinosaur. It takes way to long for them to get going on something and by the time they finish it its usually overdue and disappointing. They have so many IPs that people have wanted games from for so long. The biggest problem (I think) is that they think everything has to be top tier AAA and packed to the brim with modern gaming trends.

If it took the exploration heavy, 'find your way through' style gameplay of the original SH and RE games, I could see it. If it takes the linear area-to-area approach of RE4 and the first Evil Within, I highly doubt it.
