Games cost more to make but the rise in digital without discount and massively increased sales potential factor in as well. The last game sold something like 27 mil copies. This game would be a thousand times better if not for the rng and p2w systems. Fix that and sales of the game alone can cover all the extra content without diminishing profits. The problem is that shareholders and CEOs tend to think they're just leaving money on the table without all the rng, p2w crap. Its a state of m...
How the hell do you get flagged for a comment like this? Someone has gone full retard.
Unlocking stuff is fun, that's not the problem here. The problem is that no one has thousands of hours to put into this one game to unlock everything. Its a completionists nightmare, and its done that way on purpose to incentivize real world money purchases on loot boxes (which are a complete rip-off, btw. For instance, starfighter crates rarely contain starfighter cards, and that's the one thing they are supposed have every time). Unless we're talking MMOs, no game should take mo...
If you're going to comment, you should probably pay attention to the conversation. Its got nothing to do with about how quick the game unlocks for p2w players. The article, and the conversation, is about the unlock process being thousands of hours for people who won't use real money, regardless of how good they are at the game.
If your talking to me, I'm referring to in game, earned through play currency, not real money or the in game currency bought with real money.
Spent over 100k credits on starfighter crates and more crates than not didn't even have any starfighter cards in them. WTF?
Its why I haven't bought any crates yet. Just waiting for the controversy to drive the cost down to hopefully the 1000-2,500 range. 4k for a trooper crate just isn't reasonable.
They built the game progression around MTs, and in doing so, completely took their consumers for granted. Much like they did when they made the last SWBF, with so little content and no gameplay depth at such a high price. If they were more interested in serving the consumer, like companies with good reputations do, instead of just thinking about short term profits, they would actually be much more successful and profitable, not to mention, sustainable for the long term in those profits.
The game, itself, is great. Its the player progression/loot box system that is such a garbage fire.
When one has played multitudes of games that have done player progression a million times better than this game has, its not hard to be specific about improvements. They can call it armchair development all they want. The simple fact is that they openly invite it when they crap the bed so badly.
The systems in this game were built around incentivizing MT purchases. Its the most obvious form of bad game design there is. Specifically cause it never tried to be quality game design in terms of reinforcing and emphasizing the good qualities of the game, as well as incentivizing players to do well.
If heroes had to be locked, they should be unlocked by either gaining certain ranks, or a separate xp earned by proper use of specific troop classes.

Look at my profile page. Thats exactly what I want from them.
They trademarked 'Twisted Metal' a few years back. Still waiting on Twisted Metal PS4.
I don't need to buy loot boxes to shoot your asses down. See yall next week.
Dammit man. I'm having Ace Combat: Infinity flashbacks.
"The Last of Us Part II: As Violent as It Should Be"
I agree with this sentiment.
"Whiners Need to Go Back to the Kiddie Games"
But since when do adult professional writers talk like 3rd grade douchebags. Debates are about trying to convince people and bringing them over to your side, not solidifying them in their position with juvenile insults.
A WWII CoD would be decent if it had the depth of gunplay, and a level and mission design similar to modern Doom and Wolfenstein games. Thats basically what the first two Medal of Honor games on the PS1 were, and they are classics.
More is expected from a series like Wolfenstein. The difference between the 2 is like the difference between Brittany Spears and Dream Theater. One is made to be palatable to a wide swath of people, including those who don't necessarily like or care about video games, while the other is made for the discerning connoisseur. Wolfenstein 2 is a power fantasy that is pure fantasy with great mechanics, level design and a Tarantino-esqe narrative with the occasional echo of Mel brooks. Nothing ...
F-2A is sexy.
"anyone know more SW villains?"
Count Dooky
As far as heroes go, they need to cover all the major players from the films first. Characters like Qui Gon Jinn, Padme, Anakin (light and dark side), Obi Wan (young and old), Count Dooku, General Grievous, Mace Windu, Jango Fett, Poe Dameron, and General Hux. After that it would be fine to add the more minor players from the films (like other jedi and bounty hunters) and main characters from the carto...
