I am with you 100%. I despise the first person view in all but a few games. I think that the evil within failed to develop a sense of dread because it was to much of a shooter. the point to point chapter based gameplay robbed the asylum of a real sense of character, something the earlier 3D metroidvania style REs and the early silent hill games excelled in. TEW almost felt like it was on rails. Also, the story's head was way too far up its own a**. A big part of good horror games is solvi...
To be fair, if you don't like first person horror games there isn't much in the market for you.
lol what?! That is one sad list of games...
I'm good with more Twisted Metal, Bushido Blade, Tenchu, and Onimusha. I'm also interested in more Godzilla games cause I really liked the one that came out on PS4. I'd add Ace Combat but AC7 is coming out on PS4. How about some Final Fantasy.
Hopefully they'll be making an Armored Core or Tenchu game next. I'd love a new Tenchu game, as long as its good.
Wouldn't be better than a proper Tenchu game. Too much of a focus on character while not having the great characters necessary to make it work. The series would do better IMO if the story didn't take itself so damn seriously. Also, getting flagged for high profile kill when no one saw you make the kill completely s***s on the game logic. I'd actually buy a fuedal Japan AC, though, just to see.
Guyver 3, starring Confused Snake (or at least, his voice)? :P
Trying to make JP games like western games has been the slow death of JP games in the west. Games like Ace Combat AH, RE4-6, SH:Homecoming, Castlevania LoS 1&2,FF13 series are mostly pure mockeries of the franchises they came from (even the games that were technically good for their own reasons like RE4&5 and LoS). If they just stopped trying to make games that they think everyone would like and make games that the people who actually buy their games would like they would be in a much...
Seems like if government should sue anyone it would be the governor of Rhode Island. Government shouldn't be investing in private companies. They shouldn't be getting in their way but they shouldn't propping them up either. This is all on the governors head.
Nevermind.
@WilliamSheridan
Battlefront was a skeleton of its franchises past. It wasn't worth more than $20 because all it was was a MP shooter. I never got the impression that this was a MP game so I don't see any correlation there.
I never played ME. Every time I consider it I get reminded of how disappointed people were with ME3 and that is very discouraging so I just don't.
Its not the cover, its the reverse cover. You see it when you take out the disc and booklet.
I get the feeling that there is a lot of corporate interference on the new ME. If that is true, get ready for disappointment.
I mostly played PS1 games that I had not played before like FF6-9, MGS, Ace Combat 2, Alone in the Dark, Dino Crisis, one third of Front Mission 3 (twice)etc. The only last gen games I really liked were KH1&2, MGS collection, Armored Core 4 & For Answer, IL-2 Sturmovik, Mortal Kombat, SFIV, GT6, Macross 30, RE:CV HD, Strider, Hard Corps: Uprising, Renegade Ops, Dead Nation, Ace Combat 6, Uncharted 2, Shadow Complex & Moon Diver.
My ps3s have had more ps1 games played on them than ps3 games.
I enjoyed the s*** out of this game back in the day. That and Tecmo Bowl were two of my favorite NES games.
If this game turns out to be good it could scratch all kinds of itches.
I'd love to have Ace Combat 04, 5, & Zero, myself.
The kind of games you're talking about and the kind of games he's talking about are two different kinds of games. There is no good reason why both can't exist in the modern market.
