I don't know what Jim Ryan did right, presumably something, but if he was the one behind Sony's push towards GaaS he won't be remembered fondly.
Ask any PS gamer if they wanted Sony to move away from SP and focus on GaaS and it'd be a hard no. Shame that wasn't something they considered doing.
Bit of an odd mix visually, the environments are pretty and enemies look decent but there's a fair bit of ugly in there too. Combat looks ok. I suppose it all hangs on how good the RP part of RPG is.
I'd be amazed if it didn't explicitly show them that their GaaS push was a very expensive mistake. They had a good crack at it with Concord but it's going to crash and burn.
I think they'll ditch that strategy and go back to focusing on SP games.
It'll be interesting to see how well they sell on PS, you'd think there would be quite a few people reluctant to give Xbox money after all these years of rivalry. Then again maybe the average gamer would be keen to buy Halo etc, although you'd think if they were that bothered they'd already have an Xbox.
Think this will be the nail in the coffin putting Sony's GaaS push to rest. Seems a decent game but nobody wants it. It's a good thing in a way, poor move financially but it's shown them the way not that it wasn't always obvious.
Strategy and Xbox aren't two words that go together. They're at the try anything stage of desperation it's not a calculated plan.
I'm not a big fan of the new style for the series but I think if this was the first game in a new IP it would be getting a lot of praise.
It's hard to believe that they've been working on Silksong for around 5 years and it's still up in the air. It's only a 2D Metroidvania. The original game created from scratch by the same team took 2 or 3 years.
Fingers crossed the finished game is worth the wait.
I think it'll be a dud and Sony's brief but costly GaaS period will be marked down as a failure. It was a poor decision.
Luckily for them they're still doing well overall but they need to get back on track and focus on giving the fans what they want.
I'm always interested in a new Cthulhu game and it looks well done, but it's an odd genre to pick. Can't imagine it appealing to many.
It's nice to see that hope isn't dead in the Xbox camp.
Well that looks like a lot of fun.
Read the article and I'm zero percent better informed on the child abuse aspect of Roblox.
I assumed it was just me, appreciate the explanation. I like this site and won't easily give up on it but the technical issues are frustrating.
Aaaand it's gone.
I'm not an expert and feel free to take my opinion with a handful of salt but I think Sony overpaid for Bungie. It was a hell of a lot of money, they only have one IP worth mentioning and it seems there were significant issues with how they were being run.
I don't think the question here is wtf is Sony smoking.
Pretty good, Lego for the kids and a Metroidvania I didn't quite get round to for me.
I'd say the Fallout show is a notch or two below The Last of Us. Both good quality faithful adaptations though.
Twisted Metal was a fun watch, didn't really expect to like it but it had a lot of charm.
They don't know themselves. They're in panic mode and essentially winging it. There's no overarching strategy.
