Not one for me never enjoyed Halo SP. Good MP but I don't really bother with that these days.
Feels a bit weird for Xbox to have buckled to this extent and the 'war' to be over. Great news for PS gamers, I don't think there's anything in it for Xbox fans but that's how it goes.
Not what I expected from the Blasphemous guys, looks interesting but not my type of game at all. A roguelike with that graphical style and their general flair would have been cool.
Damn, that was a lot of wasted money on acquisitions. Making it up as they go along.
Great news I didn't know they were making a sequel. I really enjoyed the first game, bit rough around the edges but it was very atmospheric and solid enough mechanically. I'd be all over a follow up that was more of the same but more polished.
A lot of media goes after the Lovecraft vibe, this was one of the rare times it worked imo.
I've also outgrown Nintendo (to play on my own, still great with my kids) but they have plenty of adult third party games do they not? Hollow Knight, Hades etc. Especially this version with the extra power, lots of top games will be available.
You're absolutely right, the article mentioned Concord and Firewalk but didn't connect them and I'd forgotten they were responsible for that massive blunder.
Bit overstated I'd say. They've had some pretty significant successes and the failures have mostly been low cost low risk. The big one in the balance is Bungie, Marathon looks like a winner to me but if it flops and it may well do, could be a big mistake.
Won't lead to any games either, sort yourself out Sony. Made some shocking decisions lately especially with how they've used their biggest hitters. Wasted so much time and money, and it was all so avoidable if they'd consulted someone with basic common sense before going all in on an idiotic business plan.
The difference is that Sony first sold a tonne of copies on PS, then expanded the market later on when the time was right. It's not the same as exclusives failing to generate any more GP subs and having to try and claw back some cash. One is a calculated plan, the other is desperation.
Slick but very underwhelming for a reveal. Nothing impressive to show games wise and that is the whole point after all.
Don't particularly fancy it overall but the environments are fantastic and very true to life. A British version of Firewatch set in the lakes (Lakewatch?) could be great.
It's baffling how this company goes about their business. Releasing a teaser trailer six years ago for a game that only began production a year or so ago. Wtf are they doing over there, the length of time they are taking over new releases of beloved properties is insane.
For me they need to ditch the open world millions of map markers method, it's way beyond stale and makes every new game feel boring from the first minute. They need new creative talent basically, continuing to produce the same stuff with refinements is tanking them.
Take some risks and move away from their reputation of churning out functional repetitive middle of the road games.
Personally I hope the gameplay is much more like Uncharted than TLOU, although I imagine it'll be its own thing. Nothing wrong with having one main character though, it's been standard for decades and isn't suddenly a problem for this particular game.
I hope for their sake they don't put too much stock in the power of making their legacy games available on PS. Speaking for myself there's really not much I'm hankering for.
Hades 2 for me. I would maybe have said Silksong but hope and enthusiasm for that one dwindles daily.
It will definitely flop, missed the boat by a couple of years. Agreed that Marathon has a decent chance of succeeding it looks genuinely good and interesting.
It can't be sustainable having all these expensive GaaS being DOA being balanced by the odd modest success like Helldivers. The aim is to find the new Fortnite or whatever but it's highly unlikely and seems to be a massive waste of money.
Good month for me on the basis that I considered buying NFS recently, but didn't, and although I've never heard of TSP it looks very much like my kind of game and I'll definitely get it. Reminds me a bit of Severance?
Just going to pretend the SS game doesn't exist.
Gold standard for how to support a product after launch. So much love poured into this game and they haven't asked a penny for it.
