Hopefully they will follow the precedent of LBP, but if Dreams takes off in a big way and people are producing full games that stand shoulder to shoulder with professional developers' games, then I think it'd be inevitable that eventually money would come into it.
It's more of an event than a game, it could change a lot. There are going to be so many legitimately great games produced by it, I don't know if it's going to end up being monetised or not and I wouldn't be surprised if it was but it's going to be a game changer.

I like Warframe but a big part of that is the Mariana Trench depths that the modding and customisation goes to, something with similar but flashier gameplay without the depth would be boring as hell to me. Whether that's Anthem or not I don't know yet but it looks pretty generic.
An enjoyable read and I agree that the original game is still the king, especially the remake, not because of nostalgia but because everything that makes a Resi game special is at its peak in that one. Thank god that Resi 7 was done so well and got the franchise back on track, it's not often that a rapidly declining series can make such a strong comeback.
He's not saying it was the worst game, he's saying that because his expectations were sky high and it didn't anywhere near meet them, the disappointment cut deeper than it would playing a game he was only mildly hyped for.
If Cyberpunk turns out to not be the game I'm hoping for I'll probably say the same about that, as it's virtually the only game I'm genuinely excited about.

They seem to focus entirely on anything negative and completely ignore everything it does well.
It's click bait for sure because they know full well it's not the worst game in the series but they do have some valid points, Resi 4 was cliched as hell and the escort missions were pretty annoying. It did also push the franchise into a direction that it had to saved from by the excellent Resi 7.

I was thinking that the realms they put in but didn't allow access to were ones they were half considering for DLC, but then decided after launch that they wanted to make at least one follow up so saved them for that instead.
Ok so this game is clearly going to be a milestone in gaming. LBP was cool and showcased people's innovation but it was limited by being a side scroller, this has just blown the doors wide open.
7 was also a true Resident Evil, it had all the necessary ingredients. It's not fair or accurate to portray it as almost not an official game because it did a few things differently.
I'd be happy if Resi 8 was first person again and now they've backed that horse it probably will be. I also wouldn't mind more of a classic feel to it but I respect the new stuff they brought to the table because it worked.
Even if not everyone has the time or ability to make detailed 3D games I bet there will be loads of cool 2D games produced.
Surely more people are getting tired of the Far Cry formula by now, the new game barely looks any different to 5 which is relatively new itself.

Well gameplay doesn't get much better than Dark Souls so when they're done well ARPGs are king, however a lot of the time they aren't and would have been better as turn based. FF15 for example would have been better if it was turn based.

Just had a look at a trailer for Reborn, looks great. Finally a horror game where you can actually kill the monsters coming after you and you don't just hide under a table until they go away.
They've got history for having the odd bit of daft humour in MK games so that's fine but people will have forgotten about the Shaggy meme by next week.
