This review makes the game sound frustrating. What's his problem though will monstores spawning behind you? Partly what made the original scary.
Is peer to peer standard on console online? I can't say I've frequently encountered any of these issues.
And the authour should take a look at Killzone 2 for "decent" console FPS graphics.
Might be just me but unless everything is maxed on a PC game I'm not satisfied, feel like I'm missing out on the full experience.
Primarily a consol gamer now, still play on PC but years behind what's new. I just found it too expensive to keep up to date. I miss strategy games.
The game just wasn't that good. Story was mostly boring as was the gameplay.
Being Australian I import due to cost, I can import games for around half the cost retailers charge here! Only down side on PS3 is I need several PSN accounts as DLC tends to only work from the store region the game comes from.
This is how I felt about the game from the beta. Quests became boring plus difficult to communicate and group up with people. Is a shame as I was hoping I'd finally found an MMO I could get into :(.
Who ever submitted this is hiding behind a fake account.
Please don't joke about that, I've lost two friends and find it upsetting.
Very impressive
I wonder if Sony was baiting the hackers with this FW? Obvious breach of DRM laws so once Sony finds out who hacked 3.56 they could be added to the law suit.
Given the speed this occurred I wonder if Sony is trying to bait the hackers. Do we know who hacked 3.56?
I'm surprised, I like that trailer and I'm amazed a fan could make it.
I'm not quite hardcore by this definition but definitely more dedicated than the Friday night gamer.
It was well written, something I find lacking in many game journalists. I felt your criticisms were all valid and well supported with reason although I disagree with one of them. I'm glad games get patched, back in the PS2 days I was also a PC gamer so I was already familiar with patches (commony called updates at the time). PS2 games still had bugs, problem was you could almost guarantee no patch was coming to fix them. So I'm glad console games now get patches but it is a slippery s...
That has happened to me before too. Not for a long time though, long long enough that I can't remember the last time I stopped playing because of terrible voice acting/dialog. Came close with FFXIII, if Snow called himself a hero one more time...
I have a similar opinion to you, that on the whole demos are not misleading but with a different example. I liked the Enslaved demo, was expecting a great story because of it but was ultimately disappointed.
Not sure how I feel about this. I'm not a fan of the used game market, mostly because used games are barely cheaper than new. In Australia you'll often see new $100 then used $95, no money goes to the developers, EB Games (Gamestop) are just ripping people off. Because of this I never buy used. On the other hand I do support the used market as I have at times, when strapped for cash, traded 3 to get a new release free.
Personally I've never had a problem with 3D. First time took a bit to realise I had to look where the director wanted me to, everywhere else seemed out of focus. Was a little annoying as sometimes in Avatar for example I wanted to check out the space ship interior rather than the persons face. I kind of want to get a 3D TV but at the moment it's too risky, worried this tech will die.
I agree it was an entertaining review. My opinion of DCU is similar based on my experience with the beta. Not quite as negative but I did get bored with the quests and annoyed that this MMO felt like a single player game.
I don't think it's fair to review an MMO without reaching end game though, this should be an opinion peice not a scored review.
