I'm not a racing fan either but love GT5, I enjoy racing around in cars is see on the road every day. Also I have a steering wheel peripheral (Logitech Force Feedback GT) which are pretty affordable now, I don't think I'd enjoy the game as much without it.

Good question. I doubt Nintendo would be in it's place, history shows they don't seem to strive for technologically powerful consoles but rather like the Wii use older tech to keep the price down. Sega's Dreamcast had a lot of problems but maybe it wouldn't have failed. If Nintendo caved to Sony's demands we may not have a Sony console at all. If the judge ruled in Nintendo's favour we'd have a Sony console but not called PS....
All aboard, hype train departing.
Seriously though this was a good read, has me even more excited to play UC3.
Is my opinion of gamespot wrong? I'm quite surprised they published such flamebait PS3 bashing (certaintly in the title, content of the article is biased but not as bad).
Here is the original article by Neilson Company if anyone is interested, paints a rather different picture;

Yeah that was a really good read, not what I would call a brief history! And yeah I had no idea there has been so many consoles. After we hit the 90's (my teen years) I thought I'd know all the consoles but I had no chance.
How about how Sony got started with the PS1, designing a CD add-on for a Nintendo console, then fighting over the percentage of profit they'd receive, Nintendo telling Sony to piss off, Sony releasing the technology as the PS1 and Nintendo try...
I would definitely use this but doubt it'll come to Australia, we don't even have Amazon!
Well written article and I agree it won't make much difference to gaming for adults in Australia.
I am also surprised but not for the same reason as you. I thought the story couldn't get much worse and didn't see what was so great about the combat. I may be the minority but again very surprised.
I agree, RDR is a deserving winner. Hasn't it been a good year though? Stand outs for me are RDR, HR, GOW, AC:B, & GT5.
For me GT5 is most addictive, I agree GOW is best looking.
I would have argued for GOWIII but their reasoning is too sound. I finished HR twice in a row, something I've never done in my life, also whenever the weatherman forcasts heavy rain the game is the first thing I think of.
Not that big a deal, the majority of the time it just means 15 year olds are playing games you need to be 18 for in other countries.
I somewhat agree, towards the end of RDR I was fed up with the side-missions and just powered through the main story, there was no way I could go searching for any more damn flowers! GOW however I didn't want to end, took me around 15 hours but felt so fast.
Sorry Pehdahosman that's about as much help as I can give. For me it is hard to decide which I liked more AC:B or RDR.
@ gemerdude132
I have to disagree with your comment that AC:B "doesn't push the series forward much". Combat mechanics (now that Ezio is a master assassin) have changed for the better, use of a horse inside Rome (assassinate from, hijack, combat from), having a brotherhood of assassins at your beck and call is also new. ...
They're both great, would you prefere Renaissance Italy (and did you play AC2) or the wild west?
OMG the list is huge and I want so many of them, need a payrise!
Yeah what a load of crap, make her look like ugly Betty then.
I see what your saying but I doubt many people pick there GOTY choice based on how long it took to finish clock it. Games GOWIII's length take me around two weeks, it's the wow factor that counts. Gameplay, graphics, sound, those moments when your sitting going holy f*** that was awesome!
Lol, she might actually play this one. Was a proud moment when she clocked Heavy Rain.
I didn't mind the ending and liked the beginning, was everything in between I thought was mostly dull (story wise).
