Yes, there has been an R rating for films as far back as I can remember, a lot of states even have an X rating for films.

If by 'they' you're refering to our government then I'd agree.

Public opinion is however in stark contrast.

"Mr O'Connor said that survey built on public consultation of 57,000 people of which 98 per cent supported the adult classification."

I agree with the authors point about the RPG elements. My level in GT5 is not reflective of my skill, I've unlocked races that I have no chance of competing in. I disagree with the other 6 issues though. Especially regarding tuning of the cars, I can't speak for NFS but in GT5 I definitely notice a difference in the cars after making changes to them. And 12 hours of downloading, that must be a very slow connection.

Your exactly right and made the point I missed before. In this day and age gameplay is rarely an issue however story is often lacking. Last gen we didn't know what we were missing but there is a reason the Finaly Fanatsy games were popular, not to mention Ico and Shadow of the Collosus, that reason is narrative. This generation I'd say narrative has improved immensely. Look at the games which have been critically awarded this gen GTA4, MGS4, Uncharted series, AC series, RDR, Heavy Ra...

This game just keeps getting better.

We are almost polar opposites. For me narrative has become almost the most important aspect of a game. I've never found myself not finishing a game because I got bored with the gameplay, level design or atmospher but I've certainly stopped playing some games because the story is not interesting. No matter how good the gameplay is if the story hasn't engaged me I'll get bored and quit. I for one am very excited to see some developers acknowledging the importance of narrative an...

I'm having trouble getting over this game having no stealth. The core of Metal Gear is stealth, MGR feels hollow.

Good article, I always wondered if publishers threaten loss of advertising money. Personally I just gotten used to the current review score scale. 8.5-10 excellent, 7.5-8.5 great, anything less than a 7 I expect to be unpolished but playable, 5 or under broken.

Why would I but a digital version when it costs just as much as the physical one? Further to that point, games are expensive, I need something in my hands when I spend that much money. An iPhone App for $1 versus a console game for $100 (Australia).

What set have you got? I have a Bravia HX820 and I too was quite impressed with the 2D to 3D conversion.

What good is the opinion of someone who didn't even watch the show?

Hit the nail on the head. Much better show than last year but where were the awards.

Unless of coarse you call this affordable;

They'll certainly be cheaper in 2-3 years but don't expect affordable glasses-less 3D for a long time.

There are some vocal 3D haters out there.

I personally LOVE gaming in 3D and so has everyone I've shown. Now that I'm thinking of it the most common comment made by people I've shown is "eff now I've got to buy a 3D TV!!". Maybe that's where the hate is coming from.

I disagree with your first point but not your second. Metal Gear games have always been stealth games with a great story. This game looks to have neither of those which saddens me too. Very disappointed. I don't care that it's now called Metal Gear Rising and not Metal Gear Solid, it doesn't deserve to be called Metal Gear anything.

I doubt it'll be that short but I wouldn't expect it to be much longer than 12 hours. For me that's fine as it'll still take me 2 or 3 weeks to get through.

I can sympathise with you though, when I was younger and had a lot of spare time to I too would have hated these relatively short games (not that I recall any this short back then). Back then I'd probably have knocked off UC in a day or two.

Replayability is subjective.

I agree with you but I think it's because of the type of games I play. My top 5 games this generation are firstly Assassin's Creed closely followed by Uncharted, Mass Effect, Red Dead Redemption and Heavy Rain. These are all heavily story driven games so for me I enthusiastically await their sequels so I can find out what happens. I have been more than pleased with the annual release of AC and would not complain if all these games had yearly releases. The biannual release of UC and ME...

I totally agree. The fact that UC3 has the author asking questions such as why does Drake do what he does and what is his real name shows how much depth was added to the character. It has me more excited for UC4 than I was for UC3, no longer is this simply a treasure hunting game for pure fame and fortune but a game with a human and flawed protagonist who is clearly damaged goods.

I agree with everything the author is suggesting. Especially about the awards, I actually had to go and look up who won what after the show because they just weren't in there. Big improvement over last year however I hope they listen to this articles criticisms.
