Are you in NZ?
Got announced in Australia today.

Looks like this editions are exclusive to just about everywhere but America. Be strange if you guys didn't get the same editions or better considering the size of your market.
In Australia we're getting Ghost of War and Lost Mayan Ruins. No mention of A Dangerous Secret.
Yes, which is why when I'm deciding whether to buy a game I'll read several reviews spanning the range of scores. In other words I'll get several critics opinions, both good and bad, then make up my own mind.
I treat preorders like a lay-by. With so many games releasing in the last couple of months each year it makes it hard to find the cash for them all. By preordering and paying off $20 or so every couple of weeks it makes it seem much more affordable to me.
My local EB Games printed me the release schedule for PS3 the other day and it has GOW4 2012 TBC. Surprised it is not on the list.
If they pull this type DLC stunt I will be buying used.
I agree that the real issue here is the fact that they blatantly cut out important content so as to make more profit. Fair enough make people that buy the game used pay for the missing content so as to recoup some potentially lost revenue. Charging virtually everyone for cut content is wrong and something I will not support. I don't care if you finished off the DLC after the game went gold, you knew long before then exactly what this DLC was, cut content not extra content.
And then I'll buy it used. Cannot support this type of dispicable DLC.
The problem with this DLC is that there is no justification for it. They're not trying to recoup revenue lost to the used games market else it would have been included with every new copy, not just the collectors edition. It doesn't extend the life of the game as most people will either buy it from the start or miss out. This plan was conceived long before the game was complete. I speculate that EA saw what Warner Brothers did with the Catwomen DLC and liked the idea. However, they to...
I don't normally play multiplayer but galactic readiness is giving me a reason to. Can see myself jumping online for short plays.
Next time this happens I'll be waiting till I can get a cheap used copy. Then EA will get nothing but my $10 for their despicable DLC.
If it were any other species it wouldn't be such a big deal. Prosthesis are central to the lore and I believe EA knew we would virtually be forced to buy this DLC. That is why most people are pissed.
Remember expansion packs? That is what DLC should be, not content that adds to the main story. No shit I wont buy this type of DLC if it comes out three months after release, BECAUSE I ALREADY FINISHED THE GAME. Have a look at Rockstar's DLC for GTA4 and RDR, that's the type of DLC I'll hold onto a game for and enthusiastically buy. This type of DLC will always feel like content has been cut so they can charge us more money.
I wouldn't be surprised if they release on current gen consoles even if next gen is releasing soon. The install base of current gen is too large to not take advantage of.
They won't have coded a new engine from scratch. This will an evolution of there old engine so it won't be a step backwards.
I'm more than happy with the attire. I realize now my main issue with the American revolution as a game setting was the idea of playing as a red or blue coat. I just don't find the aesthetics of this time period appealing. Playing as a American Indiana with regular AC vibe I'm much more keen on.
I agree with you regarding the guns but sit somewhere in between sandbox and linear. I really enjoyed the opening chapter to Revelations which was still open but linear in terms of goal and narrative. *SPOILER* I was pumped for the story after that chapter and really keen to collect the archives. Once the world opened up though that direction was lost, the focus shifted towards re-establishing dominance of the Assassins in Constantinople with little motivation provided. Without the linear and...
If this is $30 in Australia that'll be too high for me.
EB upgraded my preorder to Freedom edition today. Happy it comes with a statue this time, save me buying it from the UbiShop.
