That doesn't make any sense, regardless of where the game's code is processed the cost is the same when it comes to hardware.
You could have 100million users, all needing the next gen hardware and those users all pay for the tech that processes the games they play, users also pay their power costs, so none of the costs to actually run the games or hardware are being handled by you.
You just produce the consoles as demand requires it.

No, it's highly likely in a significantly faster Ryzen based CPU, Navi GPU and either GDDR6 or HBM2.
Offloading processing to the cloud isn't necessary, not when the increase in CPU and GPU performance will provide low latency, local hardware performance.
Access to digital will get better, but we're less than 3 & a half years away from 2022, broadband speeds and reliability have hardly increased since the beginning of the current generation and coverage is still abismal to stake media access on a digital only landscape for gamers.
Cost of games needs to also become way cheaper online, compared to physical games. Most if not all games can be bought cheaper on Amazon or some retailer's website or if you're just...
Back in 2017 From Software had 283 people, they could have hired more and it's been over 3 years since Bloodborne released.
They developed Dark Souls 2 and 3 alongside the first game and made Bloodborne as a new IP in 2 and a half years, with help from Sony Japan.
Maybe Japan are doing the bulk of development, along with outsourcing working to external artists, animators, etc.
Their VR game could be pretty small, Sekiro is likely coming early...
Loads of people would love a successor of some kind to the first game, myself included, since Bloodborne was awesome.
I could see a team at Japan Studio working on this if From aren't involved, bit given it's been well over 3 years since Bloodborne 1 From would have had plenty of time by now to put a great sequel together.
Hopefully this is real and it gets announced at the next big Sony press conference.
Paris Games Week or Gamescom see...
Except the last game was announced then released only 9 months later.
Bloodborne only took 2 and a half years to develop from nothing, considering it's already been well over 3 years since the last one there's literally no reason why this couldn't be legit and release before the end of 2019.
Japan, Sony's new studio or maybe even Bluepoint Games could be working on this (if it really exists), with Miyazaki and other key From Software creat...
The Digital Foundry guys tested footage and their analysis shows it was running at 30FPS, stable but not 60FPS.
Perhaps the CDPR comment refers to the behind closed doors demo, which a developer was actually interacting with and that was running at 1080p.
They're not in danger of anything, besides winning yet another generation with awesome exclusives and industry wide support.
All Sony needs to do is make sure PS5 has good value hardware for their chosen price point, along with the level of games support they've given PS4 or better and they'll have yet another success of a console.
A subscription model can't be cheap enough for consumers, while providing a profit for every publisher interested.
People won't be willing to pay upfront for everything or continue to pay for "access" to their games, while renting hardware in the cloud to pay for it's upkeep and allow for all service providers and game publishers to profit.
The only way this will work is if it's offered as one option, in addition to the current w...
I only ever get digital if it's a game I don't have that comes to PS+, it's only available digital or it's a lot cheaper than the Physical version (which only happens on rare sales that have something I want).
Tonnes of people do the same as me.
New games are always more expensive digital compared to physical on PS4 and Switch in the UK.
Next gen will still have physical copies at retail/online, PS5 and next XBox will need physical discs si...
Hopefully, but let's look at these Studios in a bit more detail to see what they could bring to Microsoft's portfolio of resources.
Playground Games are the best of the bunch, they made an awesome addition to the Forza franchise with the Horizon games, have churned great versions out in a timely fashion.
They now have a second team, which is currently being built up to start working on a 2nd franchise, many believe they're making a new entry in the Fab...
No grand leaps in technology? Ryzen CPU architecture will double the number of threads per core, allow for a huge leap in IPC and clock speeds for the same power consumption, to the point where it's highly likely we'll see an 8-10X in performance in that area alone.
GPU performance will easily increase by 7-8X the base PS4 for Sony and a similar level of end graphical performance for the next XBox.
Physical hardware is here to stay, simply because...
If Gears 5, Ori or Forza Motorsport come out next year then they'll all sell much better than Crackdown 3 IMO.
So in other words you're assuming, without evidence.
Neither companies came out and stated no more games will be made in the series of The Order.
Ready at Dawn making other games isn't proof they broke ties with Sony, it's just proof they made something else.
There's no proof the partnership ended, considering it's only been 3 and a bit years it's just that RaD and Sony haven't announced a successor to the first Order ...
I don't recall Sony or RaD making statements saying they'd parted ways, do you have a source for that?
Since RaD developed the IP I doubt Santa Monica would want to take over, they helped with the technical aspects of development on PS4, most likely Sony would want Ready at Dawn to continue.
The game may not have had critical acclaim with the title, but the first game sold well enough to justify trying again with the IP.
There's plent...
Depends on what Shu means by first party, it could mean internal or external studios making exclusives.
Bloodborne 2 could be developed internally at Japan Studio, with Miyazaki acting as a consultant or some of the Bloodborne 1 team at From Software assisting in the game's direction.
Japan could also be making another Gravity Rush title.
There have been rumors of a big new IP in development at Japan too, since the beginning of the generation.

You've gotta bare in mind that Cyberpunk has huge buildings blocking your sight, way more interior cenery inside of skyscrapers and stuff like that can be used to allow you to hide pop-in, up detail over your last game.
While the game looks great, it's not some massive step over everything else.
This game is probably very unoptimized at the moment, which is why such crazy specs are needed.
I think DF said it's running at 30F...
Yep.
@Jimmy with an 8 Core 16 Thread Ryzen plus CPU, running at 2 to 3X the clock speed of current PS4 Jaguar and a good 7X the Raw performance of PS4's Pitcairn GPU, using something like a 64CU Navi GPU at around 1.6GHz we should see a huge boost to FPS while managing 4K native visuals and see a big jump in Physics and AI tech.
The boost in hardware, even at an affordable price will be massive compared to current gen.
I think most people would prefer full 1920x1080 or 1440p in each eye, running at 120FPS, as this would be a a huge step up in both Image Quality and response times.
The overall experience would be much improved over the current standard.
Adding an extra link in the chain, by having to offload code to external servers would certainly screw with the experience of Sony tried using the cloud for next gen VR.
I think even current gen VR would suffer if it relie...
