I'd agree if Microsoft had announced and shown some real games from those Studios, but right now it's just words, with no evidence of results.
Sure some of these new developers will hopefully be able to add real games to XBox's small output of games, but it's not like we didn't hear about a similar amount of new Devs coming onboard to MS's family of Devs, that later got canned.
Hopefully this won't happen again and these new MS...
Actually they worked on a bunch of games prior to making Until Dawn they were releasing a game or two each year or every other year from 2009 onwards.
They began working on Until Dawn after they shipped Start The Party in 2010, which was a totally new IP that started out as a 1st Person Move title, which was rebuilt from the ground up for PS4 some time after they initially announced UD back in 2012.
Technically they took 5 years perfecting Until Dawn, scr...
I wouldn't be surprised if their future PlayStation Exclusives could be developed for every system from PS4, VR if the setting works for the medium and PS5 (with improved visuals, faster frame rate and native 4K resolution).
The definition of a Conference is "A formal meeting of people with a shared interest".
This was a conference.
No new games were announced, the only new gameplay was for Crackdown 3 (which looked better IMO, but destruction doesn't look any better than Red Dead or Just Cause 3/4).
This was a terrible conference, clearly made for Gamepass, Black Friday announcements and to reveal the 2 new studio acquisitions.
Clearly this generation is done for Microsoft.
Are we sure that the same people who made New Vegas are even still at Obsidian?
Developers seem to move around from one studio to the next so often that it's hard to keep track of what's going on in the industry.
Technically it could still happen if Bethesda wants to do it, maybe after Rage 2 releases Avalanche could work on it.
It would have been better to get actual game announcements along with the confirmation of studio acquisitions at a games conference.
Hopefully when the next XBox is announced MS can announce as many new games at the reveal event as they have new Studios coming to Microsoft Studios.
IMO it's great to see it on Switch, videos look great on Switch's screen.
I love that I can watch YouTube content on the tablet screen and then put the system in it's dock to then blow the image up on my big screen.
I think it should have been available much sooner, given the system's Tegra X1, as with other apps, but I'm happy with how the App and video content plays on the system.
I forgot about the initial Switch hardware sales being in the previous fiscal year, not 2017.
The likes of Pokémon and Smash coming to the system, along with past games could make 20million units sell this fiscal year, good holiday bundles could also sell a lot of systems to push this quarter's hardware sales for the console.
Games like Smash and Pokémon could do great in Japan this year, but we'll see.
Sorry dude, my bad, I forgot that Switch sold a couple of million units before the fiscal year starting in April 2017.
Yeah that knocks a couple million units off of this year's fiscal sales numbers.
I could still see Switch selling through 20 million units this fiscal year, mainly because of the combined games available on the system, but the lower overall fiscal numbers done so far do reduce this likelihood of it happening.
Maybe Nintendo will ship 2...
It took Playground Games 8 years and 4 games of the same type to get to the level they're at, with help from an existing developer working on the same genre, they don't have that working on a new genre.
Forza Horizon also isn't classed as the same level of development quality as something like Red Dead or a Rockstar game.
BTW while Red Dead Revolver wasn't all that from a ratings perspective, Redemption 1 and now it's prequal put Rockstar on a w...
Nintendo's own sales figures for year one were 15.50 million, they officially confirmed they'd sold 22.86 units of Switch by the 30th of September this year.
15.50 minus 22.86 equals 7.36 million units for this fiscal year, up to September 30th 2018.
Based on what exactly?
It's not impossible for Nintendo Switch to sell that we'll, it had sold 15.5 million in the first year, it's sold 7.36 sales since March 2018, usually holiday sales from the last quarter will be as much as the first three quarters of the year.
With Pokémon, Smash and the total library accumulated over the time Switch has been on the market through to the end of it's second year 20 million units sold over 12 months isn't unreasonable.
From the recent history we've had PS4 has been inundated with a wide variety of great exclusives, PSVR seems to be doing well in that area too.
Sony have both expanded their studios and built new ones to support the platform going forward and they are listening to developers more than anyone else, so there's no reason to think PS5 will lack in hardware performance, or lack in games quality or volume.
PSN doesn't have any issues from my experience, downl...
Actually it would be an issue of resolution, pixel density and size, those OLED panels in PSVR are not going to allow for individual pixels to be seen, hell even if I put my Moto E4's 720p screen as close to my eyes as possible with it remaining in focus I can't see the individual pixels of an image, it's sharp defined once it's at the right distance.
The only way you'd have issues is if you had a faulty HMD or it wasn't calibrated properly for your ...
You can't on PSVR using a base PS4, I know because I have that setup, Pro is much better for this, given the ability to render natively at higher resolutions than the base model.
Nah they even say I'm the Project X Cloud video that they're making dedicated servers for this, the older ones have a variety of CPUs, it's not one uniform specification on all Azure servers.
This is one of the issues Cloud service companies face when trying to build a server network for gaming and other things.
Otherwise Amazon, Google, Microsoft could just write the software needed and they could have launched ages ago, sure they'd have ...
People were saying how E3 isn't as important as it once was, Sony were a major part of keeping it going and making it what it was, but it seems they don't feel the need to do that anymore.
Most likely they're going to do their own thing, at their own discretion and probably hold a reveal for PS5 in the spring of 2019, no need to be at E3 for that.
Maybe they'll also have their own event outside of E3.
It's surprising to some d...
