I wish they'd remove that touch pad. It isn't a screen, so I don't understand what it really does. I thought everyone hated tapping wildly on surfaces like in iOS games yet when Sony does it it is suddenly cool? Everything I've heard about it in terms of in game usage sounds cheesy and gimmicky.
Bethesda and Activision call Wii U 'next gen' this week while EA says they didn't like FB2's test results? All while Crytek says Cry Engine 3 runs "beautifully" on the system and that Cry Engine 3 games are in development for Wii U?
Sounds like EA just doesn't care enough to spend the money to adapt FB2/3 to Wii U, doesn't actually sound like it would hard at all. If it can run on 360/PS3 with less eDRAM, less RAM, without processors for audi...
I imagine homebrew sells as many consoles as Okami did,...
If these hackers (often pirates) don't want to reward developers with their money why don't we assume they just buy used consoles anyway?
Only on N4G would three people disagree with someone simply saying they like something,...
I'm willing to bet its Lightning Returns or FF XIII Versus with a new title. I wouldn't like it but I expect it
The general consumer is stupid. I don't understand how they look at the Wii U pad and the Wii U's graphics and not immediately understand its a new console over the Wii. Nintendo needs to communicate this better to consumers but I don't understand how people can't figure this out without slapping a 2 on the console title.
In addition, the Internet Gaming Community is stupid because they ignore the fact that CPU's use different archetechure (spell) and that...
You're right, it isn't next-gen because it came out last year. It's next gen because it has 4 times the RAM as 360/PS3 (even more than Wii), three times as much eDRAM as 360 (much more than Wii, and the rumored same amount that will be in Xbox 720), among other features like Miiverse, off-TV play, etc.
But they do have an E3 conference this year, its called Nintendo Direct. Will likely be without issues that a live presentation can have.
Games have been lacking but its getting better as these games look like they will be out before the end of 2013 on Wii U: Batman Arkham Origins, COD Ghosts, Assassin's Creed IV, Watch Dogs, Rayman Legends, Yarn Yoshi, New Super Luigi U, Wii Fit U, Pikmin 3, Game and Wario, Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD, Wii U Party, Pokemon Rumble U, an...
Even if the game is mediocre, with the right marketing and a retail release on disc with some of the NFC toys included for like $30 would move some systems for the kids IMO
At this point ads like Apple's iPad commercials with a finger flicking through apps would be better than what they got now.
I'd think the fact that Wii U games are up to 25GB, much like PS3 games, would deter thieves. The amount of work that would go into downloading, then installing, pirated games will be so time consuming for them. You could probably complete the stolen games in the time it takes for some of these losers to illegally download them
They need better ads for Wii U
Delays are delays. They shouldn't have been released by now if they aren't finished. It sucks, but the right thing to do is delay them to (hopefully) improve quality
That advertising did nail them almost 80 million units sold and a lot of favor with third parties, and having big games like COD sell better on Xbox consistently.
At this moment, the Wii U doesn't look like it will hit half the sales of the 360 with this marketing.
Looking forward to playing Earthbound later this year, for the first time! It looks like it has so much charm and personality I'm hoping I like how it plays
@DarkHeroZX
Your reply isn't even remotely relevant to my reply to that other user. He said it was 2006 hardware and I easily showed how it couldn't be.
Your talking about things that came out in 2008 (PS Home, which BTW isn't comparable to Miiverse, Miiverse is dramatically better and entirely different. Miiverse is a message board essentially, PS Home isn't) and in 2011 (PS Vita)
So I'm right, the Wii U can't be con...
I didn't know consoles had 32MB eDRAM and 2GB RAM in 2006, their own social networks, off-TV play, etc.
Have you heard of how much better software sells on 3DS over Vita? They would likely lose money on the Vita anyway. I'm sorry, but the Vita market just isn't great right now and it isn't Capcom's job to turn it around.
My only gripe with Skyward Sword was the motions in the final boss battle. I hated holding the stupid controller above my head. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I'd hope they'd have both gamepad/motion options. I really wanna see how they could innovate with the game pad too.
How? It's so small I can't imagine scrolling very far on it. I'm hopeful but I just can't see the use in it if it isn't bigger or a screen itself
