Maybe. Awakening has sold almost 500k more on 3DS than Shadow Dragon did on DS with 1/5th the install base.
In addition to what others have said, they remain something you talk about (Be it negatively or positively) so they can't be all that irrelevant can they?
This same site submitted a piece talking about how the media is ignoring Nintendo's many new IPs, Monolith's X included.

I saw virtually no marketing in America for it, outside of ads on IGN/GameSpot for like a week and even then they reviewed it badly (gave it bad score I mean) while the average review managed to hit 77% after dozens of reviews. I'd say the marketing was pretty bad on Zombi U as a whole.
If having an increase from 88MB RAM to 2GB RAM is "souped" up then what are the other next-gen consoles?
EDIT: Sorry I was confusing, I meant to say that I don't think the Wii U is a "souped up Wii" if that's what your saying, and I was using the massive leap in RAM power (88MB to 2GB) as an example. Then I drew a comparison to other new consoles having a similar size RAM jump, like how the Xbox One has 16 times the RAM (8GB) as the Xbox 360 (512M...
The article talks about how a large part of the blame can't be placed on Nintendo and must be placed on 3rd parties. It isn't all that negative towards Nintendo like most news stories on the subject, instead focusing on the flaws of 3rd parties. Did you read it? GGG posts good things about the Wii U pretty much every day and probably focuses on Nintendo platforms more than it should.
EDIT: These posts aren't exactly "doom and gloom".
I wouldn't say it's very bright. It has some good looking games, Killzone and others but they are few and far between and it gets pretty bad third party support esspecially if you aren't into certain genres. Considering it sold like 3.5 million in it's first year and is on track to sell a little bit more than half of that in its 2nd year I wouldn't say things "are bright" seeing as once this year concludes pretty much every third party will jump ship like they ar...
I'm pretty sure Sony doesn't actually receive money on BluRay stuff
People just dont' want to accept this. While it isn't for sure, the high price tags of both PS4/X1 are going to make them hard sells. Maybe the PS4 does well but I'm guessing 100k-150k per month in NPD is the best it will do January through June 2014. The Xbox One will probably do even worse. That doesn't necessarily mean the 250 million base of Wii/360/PS3 owners are disappearing, no. Heck these new consoles may top that but they won't start on fire out of the gate.
Um, well here's the line up for 2013:
8/2013: Pikmin 3, Splinter Cell
9/2013: Rayman Legends, Wonderful 101
10/2013: Batman Arkham Origins, Assassin's Creed IV, Wind Waker HD
11/2013: Donkey Kong Country, Call of Duty, Watch Dogs
12/2013: Wii Fit U, Super Mario 3D World
2013 games don't stop playing in Wii Us across the globe once the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, 2013
As for January thro...
Well they already said "spring 2014" and spring doesn't start every year until March 21st, so,... April is better than June
1. This story is six months late. Rovio confirmed Angry Birds on Wii and Wii U back in January.
2. Can't people just let others have their fun without picking on them? I'm not going to buy this personally but I don't need to put the people who are interested in it down. It's just a game.
The story isn't about the $119 sale, it's about how they were selling them from $119 to $139, which there are still on sale for $129.
Tables turned: You do realise Mr Nuts that the Wii U has system selling first party titles coming this holiday at a lower price?
I'm not trying to say one is better than the other, but obviously Wii U development costs less and is an easier investment from Ubi so long as more units are sold. I think all consoles will do fairly well this holiday anyway.
you ask for them to make new IPs. They're bringing out X, Wonderful 101, investing in Bayonetta 2 and rebooting Steel Diver (practically a new IP) as a F2P game. Not to mention all the new IPs on 3DS.
That's a bad message to send.
This opinion piece literally tells female gamers:
1- Don't whine when you get treated unfairly by male gamers
2- Don't announce that you're a gamer
3- If you don't want to be treated like an object to "cover your girls up".
4- Don't treat gaming differently than everyone else treats it
First, I don't really think the "gamer gurl" who poses biting on c...
Just like Sega had the balls to launch a "next-gen" console in 1999 with 16MB RAM and 200Mhz CPU? Or how Sony had the balls to launch a "next-gen" console in 2000 with 32MB RAM and 300Mhz CPU?
Well, since those games you like aren't even coming out until mid 2014 at the earliest then you don't really need to "rush out" and buy then do you? Its a new system, droughts are to be expected even if this has been a pretty bad one.
They seem to really prefer the PS4 in all their Xbox One posts.
They could be wanting a lot of profit, perhaps it only requires 300k or 500k to break even. Also, I'd point out that Awakening has doubled the sales of the DS and Wii/Cube installments, so the franchise appears to be on the rise a bit.
