Sony has 4 firstparty exclusives in 2022, plus atleast 1 third party. I don't think we can expect a whole lot more from them.

@Germaximus
It did exist, but monthly updates seems to have improved after the revamp.

It's also cheaper than before, to those who allready subscribe to +.

Might take a hit of it becomes exclusive. It's big on playstation, so Cods popularity would drop to some degree, perhaps creating a small opening for a competitor.

I'm hoping for Quake 2 and Alien trilogy

After the succes of Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim, I'd aasume they allready have all the resources they could want.

I'd rather have confirmation too soon than no news and endless rumours like with the 600 Silent Hill games currently in development. It's nice to know what to expect and they did make it clear that we shouldn't expect Fallout 5 anytime soon, but that they would make it at some point.

@Darkrider
And it will to continue to be the case when Switch 2 arrives. It'll be better than, but still behind Series x and ps5. Personally I don't really think it matters that much, we got the other consoles for visually impressive stuff.

Ah, there's more. I'm 2 hours in, so only fights have been ones where you mash circle and it doesn't feel too grear. I wouldn't call it a dedicated jump button because it's contextual. I would prefer to be able to jump freely.

I think the puzzles are too obvious to be puzzles. You just do the one thing you can do, you never have to think because there's nothing to think about. Wouldn't mind a bit more to them. You have an inventory but you almost...

But it does have fighting mechanics and they kinda suck, so it is worth discussing. I don't mind them though, as you generally try to avoid fights, which is fun enough and more in line with the puzzles in the rest of the game.

Wouldn't mind a dedicated jump button and a bit more involved puzzles. It's more of a narrative game than an adventure game, so it's fine, but could have worked super well with more point'n click elements.

But this clarification makes things more vague in a good way. The ash idea is just an attempt to explain the unexplainable other world.

"It's weird and creepy because: Fire!"

Sickening? What are you, Morrisey?

1413d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

The reason they stopped making Dishonored is that both games sold lile crap. Same goes for Prey. It sucks, but that's the reality of the situation.

That's probably the reason why they are now doing a coop looter shooter, those games tend to sell.

Might feature reworked and extended levels, they've hinted this.

1414d ago 3 agree4 disagreeView comment

But the dungeons are fairly flat, I don't think they had to design them that way. My guess is they built the levels out of prebuild segments, because it's faster to do it that way. There's a lot og copy pasting in the dungeons and i don't believe that it's because the ps4 is unable to handle it done differently. Last of us 2 avoids these problems and that game is a lot more detailed than the dungeons in ff7. Plenty of other games manages to have huge open worlds packed wit...

How? They could have had interesting level designs if they wanted, I don't think it's related to hardware limitations. Same goes for low res textures, seems more like a honest mistake rather than a limitation.

I'd recommend giving Mundaun a go, one of the best horror games in recent times and it's packed with original ideas, especially in the last act. The mountain sequence is insane. And it's not just a walking sim, there's weapons and inventory management.

I also think we'll see some more indie stuff on the coming years, there's a growing interest in more traditional survival horror games. So like we saw with boomer shooters and we're starting to see...

But illium and Olympos is nowhere near his Hyperion series, which might be up there among the best sci-fi ever written. It's Neuromancer tier stuff, if not better.

1417d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

In Illium, peoplr have ascended to the stars. But they left people on earth, who primitive lives with some help from old technology. They have machines that can reconstruct their flesh if they die in an accident. When they turn 30(?) they ascend and join their people in the stars. That's what thet think, in reality they end up on a desolate space station where they are killed by a creature that call itself Caliban. The people in the stars have been gone for a long time and all that is lef...

Haven't played that far, but assume it's something like Dan Simmons' Illium, but probably less interesting. Not a bad thing though, it's hard to compete with the ideas in Simmons Sci-Fi.

Probably the kind of spoiler where it's related to the first 5 seconds of the intro.
