Would have been a perfect launch title tbh . The way it showcases the power of xbox.
There has been good games where this happened. I think they did it to Arkanes Prey, which was a very good game. But it shows a lack of interest/faith from the publisher.
With Senua I think it's more that Ms could 't care less about a prestige project like this atm. They have pivoted and only want big hitters, so why put money in supporting Senua? Just throw it out there and move on. It's the last part of their old vision for xbox and no longer relevat. A Phil Sp...
Wouldn't go that far, but they must have spent a fortune on it and I can't imagine it being very profitable. I don't think current day MS would greenlight it.
Played it last night, the game is awesome. It's like classic Re mixed with Re4 and Silent Hill churned through Final Fantasy VII aesthetics. Super well made with smooth controls. Could end up being my favourite of the year.
You are aware that new people are born every day? All the 5 year olds probably didn't play it when it released.
But I guess you played every game ever released, which is quite impressive.
You can just buy it, you don't need premium.
And it's still good, but there's a couple of early missions that are extremely tough. But they don't really make games like this anymore.
G-Police is nice. But might be among the hardest games I've ever played.
I would be so hyped if it was some kind of singleplayer title. But it's not. Still curious, that image is very cool.
Hooefully the long term vision is a pivot away from their live service double down. A couple of games is fine, but having everyone working on live service titles seems misguided all things considered.
Might subscribe for a month to play Senua. Haven't subscribed since Forza 8 and Starfield last year.
That's the thing he mentioned about not being a creep at all.
Then they shutdown Codemasters and studio behind Jedi Survivor.
Atleast they could hardly do much damage that EA hadn't allready done. EA has shut down most of their studios by now.
Microsoft did, Phil Spencer played a minor part. He instigated the buyout that led to Kotick escaping all his controversies while getting a golden handshake.
Someone on Twitter calculated that the people hired in Tango and Arkane Austin could get a decent salary for roughly 17 years for the money Kotick was paid.
Maybe they'll reveal plans for last half of 2024 and maybe even first half of 2025? Nah, sounds utopian.
They could have attempted to use the game to drown out all the negative attention after the shutdowns.
Acquisiont might also have been more expensive than expected. Not sure how it works, but that year of legal battles can't have been cheap?
Very possible that they allready planned it, but they obviously can't announce it until the game has been out for a while.
I think they have changed plans a lot. Current MS wouldn't have greenlit Senua 2 and games like Pentiment and avowed. Wonder whether we'll get Outer Worlds 2 or if it will be reworked into a more succesful franchise.
Only issue is that if that happened, people would just make new IP's instead. New Ip's can easily thrive, it's just a more risky.
But in time every big game will be either Marvel or Star Wars, so wouldn't matter anyway. Joking ofcourse. Partly.
Would have been a perfect launch title. I think it will do well enough because it's probably good, but can't imagine it will make enough money to justify what must be a gargantuan budget by now. Feels like they expected it to be God Of War, but in reality it's a fairly niche title due to it being a primarily narrative driven experience with a heavy subject.
If it supports your library, some people own more ps4 games than steam games. I know I do.
