“What I’ll tell you is that with the Wii we did not have the benefit of multiplatform games from key publishers. I didn’t have The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I didn’t have the best of the Call of Duty games. That’s what I missed.

“With the Wii U’s graphics capability, processing power, and HD-output, we’ll get those games. That’s a huge competitive advantage versus where we were with the Wii.”

This can't be what he personally thinks about this. Does he real...

I think there was a hatred of the bigger gaming sites around the time that the Kane and Lynch scoring debacle happened over at Gamespot. There was this idea that the big "objective" sites were being influenced too much by publishers, namely their PR wings. It was well-warranted anger, and it lasted for years as IGN and Gamespot struggled to get readers back. There was a lot of discussion of the influence of publishers and companies during the "console war" days after that ...

That isn't BS - this guy isn't giving an authoritative, objective, "Should I buy this on day one?" review on an old game. He's basically recalling his experience with it.

If you watch his other stuff, you'll see how big a fan he was of the N64 titles also - it was a product of his heyday, I wasn't so taken with the BK franchise, so I don't really mind that N&B was the way it was. It's personal. You want a deep innovative vehicle exper...

Ha. If you think he was the one that made the decision to put that much DLC in the Fable series, you don't know MS well enough.

He's doing his job, and in the meantime people are asking for his opinion and publishing it. It's not an opinion I agree with (gambling addictions and purchasing microtransactions to enjoy a game you already like a little more are very, very different things), but that doesn't mean he should stop talking.

Actually, I really like where he's going now that he's out of the clutches of Microsoft. It looks like he's focusing on doing small things really we...

It's idiots like those who drown out the actual constructive criticism she should be taking to heart.

Some day there really will be a competent E3 presenter, and she could be that person if she figures out the difference between not being politically correct (a construct of the 90's and Tipper Gore which hardly matters anymore) and being sensitive (with her "we're all a little gay" comment, she just stereotyped a little over half of the humans on this pl...

Netflix just needs to get its act together. It might be a little better on the PS3, but none of their interfaces on any system are that usable at the moment.

Yeah, you can always upgrade the HDD yourself in a PS3 with a generic bigger one, which is one of the best reasons to buy one:

Luckily, prices are declining from where they were after the Thailand flood, and it's very easy to replace it! I've had a 320GB hard drive in mine for years, did that for 70 bucks, it...

Yeah Hollow, it doesn't make sense that it's "sad but true-" this is kinda like Bayonetta in that it's a fast action game built for replay, not a cinematic story-telling game built for cutscenes, or an open-world game built for exploration. As a fan of these kinds of games, I can't wait to play both LC and MGS Rising!

The timing on that was amazing!

"...Nnnno!"

And millions of gamers nodded their heads.

God, where was THIS at the conferences? It looks great!

So much love. I haven't been able to play any of these, and I've had this 320gb HDD just waiting to serve a greater purpose... Signed up last night, and downloaded all the May free stuff before it expired. Cannot wait to get home and see the new lineup.

The British hired the Hessians, and the French were heavily involved. It was a big international conflict, and it was less binary than what we may have learned about in 3rd grade history. That's what he's saying. Not sure why the writer was confused on this one - perhaps he stopped taking history classes after 3rd grade?

That PS+ announcement was my favorite part of the conference. It was great enough to make me finally be a PS+ subscriber, but I can see where your mileage may vary. For me, those are all games that I thought were cool, but I wouldn't get at full price. Now, I get to play them all for under the price of one at-launch PS3 game. Even for one month, that would be awesome. Do I own them for eternity? No, and I wouldn't care to, either. Will this be a lot of fun for fifty bucks a year? Uh-h...

This platform launch is going to be anything but worthy, if Tuesday was any indication. I'd give it a couple years past launch before picking it up at the least.

Like, seriously, Pikmin 3 is nice, but they needed *one* flagship title to really show off what the Wii U could do, and if that's Nintendoland, I want out.

Absolutely. "You'll never have to ask yourself how great the Elder scrolls games would be as an MMO again." Uh, from the looks of it, yes, I will.

This doesn't look like an Elder Scrolls game at all; it looks like a painstakingly-crafted-by-one-d ude Star Wars: TOR mod made to look like it's in the Elder Scrolls universe. And I'd totally play it for free without any in-game purchases, if only for an hour or two before the novelty wears off.

Sweet! I was concerned about Sega re-getting the licenses for that soundtrack, but it looks great.

Well, that was last year, for sure.

This year's hopes:

-I hope Microsoft can put together a press conference that isn't trying to convince Time Magazine that their new console is for the little chitlin's, because that is getting old for this old bean.

-I hope Sony can get off their high hardware horse and focus on cheaper, more multitudinous, less first-person-shootery, innovative games. I got a PS3 to experience stuff like Everyd...

He could be older... undying, sure, but older...

Look, Lords of Shadow was a game that was thrown around as Castlevania, Not Castlevania, a reboot, a Kojima game, a foreign non-Kojima game... that's over now. Now they can hopefully... hopefully, hopefully, hopefully... take that engine and make a huge, SOTN-influenced game. Canon or no canon, I couldn't stand the non-Castlevanianess of LoS, and I hope the team wouldn't accept anything less than greatness the seco...

In a way, I get what you're saying. It is disappointing that a big-ticket franchise like Zelda is going to get a few re-hashes, and it definitely means that their Wii U Zelda original isn't ready yet...

...but it's a logical thing to do! I don't know how many Dolphin HD things I've stared at with Zelda up-rezzed, it always looked great even out of Nintendo's hands. The 3DS did *not* have the OoT remake at launch, or really anything at all, and it was ...
