"You're messing with my Zen thing, man!"
Needed to be said.
But what the heck? Why, if they're so "chilled out" as they say at the end of their interview on the same site, are Zen getting all uppity about a few indie designers? Great designers, mind you, awesome even, but just a few! Why is it their problem?
I really don't care about console exclusivity with Team Meat anyway - they make iterative changes on the...
It's best to wait until the game's out, really. The Skyrim crew needs to make tons of decisions that affect the overall product, and this is just one piece of that puzzle. And I agree with Joab - if they couldn't get repairing to be enjoyable, or at least integral, it's best that they leave it out.
All I know is that I've seen enough of this game to not scream "Casualization" at the top of my lungs. At the very least, this is not going to be anot...
Kingdoms, you're totally right. The entirety of 360 gamers could never be one Japanese loyalist. You got me there, bud!
But I'll raise you this: Bill Gates is not 18 fascist Persian kittens. So there. I think.
Notime, I know exactly what you're thinking, and it... is... glorious!
Seriously, they already have enough violence and boobs in MGS, all it needs is a Heavy Metal universe. And Liquid Snake will have an epic beard.
"We don't think people want to see that anymore," a member of developer Team Ninja told us at Gamescom today. "They've already seen it."
We've already seen poorly contrived soap operas, but that didn't stop them from making Metroid: Other M.
I'm usually okay with various framerates in games, so long as the framerate's steady throughout a game - if it dips and jumps, it takes me out of the experience (looking at you, Chrono Cross!). Imagine if the real world started skipping around, jumping frames, and then speeding back up without anyone noting what happened! Yeah, doesn't happen, right? That's why I don't want it to happen in games. Same for books - if Game of Thrones randomly changed to Comic Sans font, I&...
Nice little theme article! However, you could also throw a Bruno Mars CD at me and it would be just as effective as it is on a hipster! Maybe I should give Gadget some hipster glasses...
My best guess - and this is based on what I think the best games ever made actually were - is Panzer Dragoon Saga. Sega has a good relationship with MS, a reboot would require a giant triple-A release, MS would like to court more Japanese gamers, and Sega is looking to get its adult audience back... and it's not happening with Sonic. Remember "Project Draco?" What if they changed that up a bit?
But I'd have a sad face, since I don't have a 360. I'll ...
Not really looking for yet another portable, but if Sega announces a new Panzer Dragoon on the Vita, I'm all ears. And all wallets.
One can hope.
GB games are typically, by their nature, not as good as the original (I'm gonna be divisive and say that Kid Icarus on GB is better!), but if someone played Gameboy Pac-Man for a long time as a kid, maybe they'd want it, and at the very least it's emulated perfectly. To your younger consumer, I wouldn't recommend it, but there are some old Pac-fiends out there who are most likely glad to see this.
But that retail game... not yet. If it's down to 15-20 buc...
Oh man, the last one... awesome.
My second best would have been in Heavy Rain - "JA-SON!" "JASON!" "JASONJASONJASON!" That was one of the most unintentionally hilarious scenes I've ever played through. Snake! does belong at the top though.
Re: Wada -
"His speech is titled (roughly translated from Japanese) 'The Essence of Game Industry Revolution.'"
I think this may actually mean a speech on how the game industry is evolving, not revolting. Let's hope that he's talking about things like iterative improvement, middleware, production methods, and the like (making them more efficient, thus allowing more time and people to be invested in things like story and design), and not just ...
Juuuuuust wait until the holiday season is over. The main DS customers that need to get behind the 3DS aren't us. They're kids and casuals, and they don't think like us with all this "third-party support," "3D is a gimmick," etc. They think about the mascots, the names, whatever. If they don't flip over the lower price point and pretty strong first-party stuff at the end of the year, then we'll really talk.
Makes me want to replay Demon's Souls in a different way... again!
Canary, I'm guessing you never bought an Apple product and then saw the next edition pop up 4 months later before - and I wouldn't expect that from many people on this site who follow tech news either, but among your average kiddy/casual consumer, it's a constant cycle of hosing people. What Nintendo is doing in terms of giving out 20 free classic games (you can't do that *legally* anywhere else, right?) is pretty unprecedented. They're actually rewarding early adopters ...
Well, I don't agree, so... what do I do if I only lol'd?
People cost money. If R&D spent a considerable amount of time on making an affordable 3D handheld at the expense of other work, and were paid pretty darn well, you'd better believe they were - along with all the costs they incur - included in the cost of making these systems, to say nothing of the costs of the manufacturing process.
And sure enough, in 3 years, when the tech doesn't cost as much and the R&D costs are a thing of the past, they'll be making ...
I don't see this either as the 3DS being in crisis or causing a buying frenzy after the price drop. This looks like a holding pattern - it turned out that third-party developers are holding off or cancelling their 3DS games because of the lack of market share at this time.
So, Nintendo cuts the price to make its first holiday run more successful, they roll out first-party games before Dec. 25th hits, and they try to keep their early adopters occupied during the gap in-be...
While I'm not thrilled about the mouse controls (at least that's what it looks like at the time), the weapons... it's an Einhander homage... might just have to get this for that.
