Because now that the prices are so low on these consoles, readers of Forbes Magazine can afford them!

...wait, what? Timely?

Um, the article link is down... so, that's the comment I have about the article.

About this speculation, I have no clue why Sony would do that. Ratchet and Clank was obviously passed off from Insomniac to lesser companies - All 4 One was not enjoyable at all. Their new title looks like Yet Another Shooter With a Comic Style To It Part 401: This Time, It's Different. Resistance, while fun, isn't going to net a giant amount of cash without a drastic change.

Having Blip on there makes a lot of sense for nerds! I know a ton of great video series that run through Blip, and having those on TV would be nice.

Having IGN, though? Really? They have a friggin' website. Is the app there because their video application isn't supported?

The problem with the whole argument is actually Nintendo's early PR and the E3 conference. They sold the Wii U largely on its parity with other systems, making it so easy for developers to bring their games there, and they'd be even better.

That isn't the Wii U's fate at all, and the Big N knows it. They're just trying to get all the support they can before it becomes a cheaper, affordable family system with a few mind-blowing Tokyo Studio first-party ti...

We're saying the *tech* is basically current-gen. Not the timeframe in which the system was released. This thing will play wonderful Nintendo games and good versions of current-gen games. When third parties move to the new Sony/MS consoles, they'll look at WiiU's power as past-gen.

Not the end of the world, live2play! in the next few years, It'll be cheaper to make games for last-gen and WiiU for companies that don't have such a crazy production budget. L...

Exactly, Lyon. This author is arguing using the WiiU apologist angle : "Of course the WiiU is powerful! It's much better than current-gen consoles!" Publishers might be having small gripes regarding putting current games on there, but that really isn't important. Those companies will figure it out eventually. The big problem is that this thing is current-gen, not next-gen.

We don't know what Sony and MS have for next year just yet, but we know it'll...

They're definitely trying to have a more complex UI running in the background, accessible at all times. That could warrant beefing up the RAM as much as they need to. That won't ultimately be the thing that would escalate the price a ton.

It's all part of physical retailers' plans to drive themselves out of business:

1) Let digital distribution pass you by!
2) Make physical-copy box art uglier!
3) Do not profit!

Yeah, Nathan, it's Kinect-like because it's a camera that tracks 3D motion, that's all. And the Kinect was just something Microsoft purchased off an innovative group in Tel Aviv anyway, so no one's venerating a company here. It's just Kinect-like. Hopefully, unlike Kinect, it works.

Aw, I was hoping they could book Castlevania: SOTN's Dracula as the end boss! His super move would be throwing a "Miserable Little Pile of Secrets" at the player, and one of his repeating lines would be "HAVE AT YOU!" Galamoth for the assist!

Okay, I get OpRainfall, I really do. Those games were just sitting there with an English translation ready. But this? A campaign to get promotional material from video games in progress? Look, if Squenix isn't going to make these games at all, and just abandons them, they'll miss out on our money. We'll go elsewhere. We can't force them to work harder or faster enough on a game as to have more material available. That's up to them, up to their budget, and up to PR.

This feminist has low to no problem with Gearbox. DNF wasn't "their" game, it was a game by a melange of companies that needed to be scrapped together in some way. We needed to see what killed 3D Realms, what that guy who pre-ordered it years ago was waiting for. Bad or good.

Should they have treated the alien lair stage differently? Yes. At least with some option to skip it. If you haven't seen it, it's ridiculous and yes, the dialogue is disturbing. Ch...

This is exactly what they did for Sin and Punishment: Star Successor. It didn't sell well, sure, but it made *me* happy to buy a Wii when it was at the end of its cycle, on the cheap. I'm not regretting for a second that Nintendo pulled that franchise from the ruins and gave Treasure a shot at a sequel.

Just keep in mind what Sega's going through. They can basically afford to revive their old titles at the moment, and that's it. That no one truly made a sequel...

Wasn't there a time, back in the day, when popular franchises were always outsourced to smaller companies for portable titles? I mean, THPS2 on the Game Boy Advance wasn't developed by the original Tony Hawk devs either, but it was great, and Vicarious Visions became a go-to portable dev because of that. WayForward plus Contra also = awesome! This is nothing new.

Grunger is right that if this sells well, the Vita might see more CoD, sure, but it'll also boost Nih...

Between this and JSRF, I'm thrilled about what Sega's doing. Here's hoping they make enough to stage a full-out Saturn/DC/Original Xbox-inspired renaissance some day.

Banjo: Nuts and Bolts had a solid introduction against the demographic-broadening that Microsoft had been pushing on them since they arrived. That talking TV thing with the computer sound effects? Come on.

First he talks about how no one likes platformers anymore, then he forces a sluggish Banjo to run a linear, bloated parody of a Banjo platformer (a corporate bigwig's berating of what a platformer is), all the while Banjo and Kazooie are older and fatter to drive the po...

I'm pretty sure they just moved these guys elsewhere. Could have been a management dispute, since "reprioritization" usually means shifting people to different studios, which are owned/managed by different people. Sony still has the Wipeout IP, and they'll still use it, just with another studio.
