The only thing I could see working for N is their software development. I bought the original Xbox not because it was more powerful or faster, but because it carried on Sega's work when the Dreamcast bit the dust, with Panzer Dragoon Orta, JSRF, and Gunvalkyrie leading the pack. I didn't care about the PC ports or how they looked - whatever. It was the well-done, aesthetically uniform games that kicked butt.

Should both MS and Sony go down the path of pushing companie...

It's excellent news for THQ! Those guys are in the middle of a rebuilding process, having DS2 be a lauded property will only help them out.

Eh, it should be a gay geek convention in my opinion. GeekGirlCon's awesome because it includes, within its title, all forms of geek, and just like what's proposed with Gaymercon, everyone's invited. Starting with a bigger target audience would really benefit the founders.

Well, if this rumor actually has some teeth to it, I hope it's a remake of the original Prince of Persia, but NOT Prince of Persia 3D (shudder)! Difficulty and all. Wishful thinking, I know.

Exclusives do not last forever, as they are business agreements, not some sort of sacred law. Keep in mind that Gears has three entries in the franchise and now a completely new spinoff; Epic and Microsoft might want to part ways with the exclusivity of that franchise in favor of something new and potentially more lucrative; who knows?

I'd guess that if Cliffy wanted to release something for it, though, it would be much easier to just resurrect Bulletstorm.

So, um... Motley Blocks! Yay!

They'll focus on how FFXIV no longer sucks as badly as it used to with the new expansion, but I don't think it's going to do that well for sales...

I think he's fine saying that. Some people want to keep the publishing business more open. Steam is awesome - it really is - but he wants to keep his options open and the marketplace diverse. That's fine, it's not like people haven't bought Minecraft.

They're not really saying it to "us," really. They're saying it to their stockholders, who they need to keep confident about the future after they invested their time and energy in Wii U titles (after, I'm sure, a lot of Nintendo financial support).

Stockholders are most likely wary about the Wii U after its showing at E3, they've seen the games press knock it quite a bit. Ubisoft made a huge investment in the Wii U. Makes sense that they'll try...

They just did a horrible job trying to explain it at E3, where they basically said as much. Once the author came out and talked about it, the game looked a lot better.

It all takes some context, and neither CNN nor Fox nor some of us can understand that.

Any piece of work, any object, any idea, any thought could drive an insane killer into the act of killing. Could video games do that? Absolutely. But it's not their place, nor our place, to blame the game.

As we have nearly the same debate with guns in this tragedy, one thing is incredibly important to keep in mind - no matter what the weapon was, or the motive, or the ...

They'll do it when they feel like it. Until then, I just picked up All The Borderlands on Steam for 7 bucks. As a busy guy, that'll hold me over and then some.

I've yet to play the full version, but the demo blew me away. As a classical fan, hearing Dvorak 9 as a giant sword stabbed through the entire planet was awesome!

I'd add Legend of Grimrock too, but that's a little obscure *dons hipster glasses*

This is, you could say, a procedurally generated list. It was solely based on their review scores - they moved from their own 9.0 scores to their 9.5's, and that's it.

If you want to blame something, don't blame the list, blame the reviewer who gave Gravity Rush a 7.5. Or visit a site that liked the game a little more.

I'm just hoping beyond hope that we're going to get that out of Final Fantasy 15, subtitled "The Learning of the Great Lesson."

One can dream.

And seriously, I would have loved FFXII if summons were useful. Getting friggin' Zeromus, Chaos, Exdeath, that was awesome! Never used them. Oh, and if the airship wasn't a stupid map.

Final Fantasy 6 (see above).

Word, FF6 for the win! I understand that some people don't get it - it's hard to visualize every character and every scene in 16-bit 2D if it wasn't the new big thing during your childhood, but that game's story is epic at its core. If there's anything that needs a gigantic overhaul, and would be incredibly impressive (considering you'd basically have to have two differently-designed worlds!), it's FF6 first and foremost. Gawd, if they brought the Amano illustratio...

Hey, somebody's gotta have some fun out there. I'd rather make ridiculous demands of a small creative group than be at the butt-end of a giant corporate board meeting and then make their cheap, risk-averse decisions look like actual innovations. I'm guessing there are some Molyjam devs on his team that feel up to the task.

But yeah, I think it's hilarious that he's playing up what's in that cube for his next project, that news reports will stem from it...
