Could we say that moving forward, we'd like to read more reviews from people who have the right kinds of bias, then? More often than not, I think we're condemning the Kane and Lynch-firing kind of bias; a dependence on ad revenue scaring managers of editorial staff into ordering them to score games within a certain range.
I hope my reviewers have bias, in that they love what they do, and they love the medium they play and criticize. They're credible to me if they&...
Really, someone likes the new weekly thing instead of the bundles? I should re-check this out:
"We're taking a break from Weekly Sales.
But don't worry, we've got some really amazing things coming up that we're excited to share with you soon!"
Huh. Alrighty then.
@Vashlion, Giant Bomb's a pretty realistic example of what you're proposing. Yes, they're owned by CBS, and yes, there are some ads on the site, but they're also partially funded by supporters, who are avid fans who usually came to the site via their podcast (and don't have to deal with the ads due to their support, along with premium content). The reviewers and writers typically identify themselves as not in the same job as game journalists, they're part of the "...
With Kojima's frame of reference, just about everything must look traditional!
I tend to agree with him on this one, but hey, traditional is not always a bad thing. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia was a traditional Metroidvania game. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate was a nontraditional Castlevania. One of those was awesome, and only one. The more "traditional" those games got to their predecessor, SotN, the better!
Here, though... i...
I'm gonna call "No" on this one. "Zelda 2014" or "Zelda 3DS Next" or "New Zelda" is a placeholder. They're calling out a particular title in the franchise, so this should stick.
Tapdancing Buddha on a Saltine! There's an announcement of A Link to the Past 2, and someone complains about it being Zelda? I quit. Bye, The Internet. Your series of tubes entices me no more.
I know, I know. Nintendo did you wrong with their WiiU launch. It's okay. You'll be alright. *pat pat pat* This is the best decision they've made in a long time with titles, so let's hope the game fits the awesomeness that just happened.
Bwahahahaha!
You do know that adding 50% of $15,000 to itself leaves you with $22,500 though, right?
Gamestop: That's how they get ya... Math.
Minato has it right: Unless something goes horribly awry with the Playstation Store, if you really want a perpetually-licensed title, just wait until you don't have PS Plus anymore, and then just purchase the game.
"But what if the Playstation Store stops being supported, and all the ability to purchase goes away?"
You'll get sufficient warning, and then you can work with customer service. No big deal.
But for a small game...
I -mostly- agree. I'm one of those crazy people who powered through all the Japanese text to play Retro Game Master 2 (Game Center CX 2) on the DS, and I can't wait for Dragon Fantasy to hit because of that. Way more excited about that than most of the other titles last year.
On the other hand, what did we expect? They're already moving on to the PS4, and courting plenty of indie devs to do so also. Most likely, the heavy hitters that would have released somethin...
Article: 60fps is important!
Me: "Yes!"
Article: We'll show you a comparison so you know JUST HOW IMPORTANT IT IS!
Me: "Yeah! Show em' all!"
Article: Here are some GIFs! I swear they're accurate! [puts some directions in bold as if readers would actually pay attention to it]
Me: *facepalm*
I seriously want more games running in 60fps. That sense of fluid motion isn't just some number...
And Mikeyy, the sad thing is that not enough gamers know who Cerny is either. And haven't played Marble Madness. \m/
The Atari Jaguar! "Do the math!"
The Atari Lynx! "I hope you like batteries!"
yeah, no :P
Yeah. This guy does know who's behind the development of the PS4, right? Ya know, *not* people from Japan, really? You'd think he'd met Mark Cerny before, him being in the industry for so long...
...oh. He worked for Bushnell at Atari in 1982. Way to disregard some of your best old-school employees, Nolan.
"I think Steam has done a better job than most..." Hey, I'm agreeing with you now! "...on the PC side of the world." Ug...
The kind of girls I care about (my friends) tend to play a lot more CoD than my guy friends. And win.
They're silly, but I've personally known girls with a thing for Sephiroth, so basically, we're all silly.
Word, sarshelyam! Well freaking said.
What sucks is that those 150 people are going to have to find a new job, which often means moving far away, and arranging for your family to do so also. I'm hoping that this isn't the case for most of these guys, who have been constrained by awful management and awkward, inconsequential projects for years. It's not their fault, it was their higher-ups.
But "Lucas should never have sold to Disney?" Lucas had older Star Wars fans just waiting for a new fra...
Reserving the band name "Mandatory Kinect!" Dibs!
Sonic CD!!! I don't blame you. It's the best Sonic, the best Sega 16-bit era soundtrack, and it's an over-colorful seizure-inducing time capsule of early 90's nostalgia.
Bubs!!!
Yes, banning one and two would be akin to causing the extinction of the elusive, endangered Geoff Keighley! Save the Geoff Keighley!
