It really depends on what you want in an ending. It was a fine cinematic ending and a great ending to the story for sure, with these two just duking it out like it was MGSIV on the top of Outer Heaven. Watching it all happen was awesome.

Game-wise, it didn't make sense. If you think that a final boss should test your skills acquired throughout the game (I sure do), then this just didn't do it at all. If you're being really generous, it's almost Punch-Out, bu...

I like the article, and I especially agree with the pacing criticism. I couldn't stand how the story unfolded in the last 1/2 or so of the game, including how barren Archades was when compared to Rabanastre when you finally arrive, and the weird, jarring "HERE'S THE ENDGAME!" transition that you can only access by your mapship - ahem, Airship (which doesn't actually let you fly it in the middle of an open-world game). The writer's idea that maybe the big, sprawling d...

Um, "Pac-Man?" What happened to that headline?

Yes and no when it comes to this article. I don't think we're necessarily witnessing hypocrisy, I think we're witnessing an already-splintered base of gamers. They left when Nintendo brought the Wii to market, they left in droves when they followed it up with the WiiU, and they haven't cared about Nintendo ever since. It's tough to compare one console's game's reaction to a Nintendo reaction, because you're looking at two somewhat different groups.

Of all of the weird things Nintendo has done hardware-wise, storage has been surprisingly open. You're talking about a company that allowed you to just hook up an external HDD via USB and use *that* for storage on the WiiU. This is why when Nintendo released their 3DS's with a paltry amount of HD space but allowed for standard SDHCs, it didn't matter, because we just upgraded to 32gb for next to nothing. That's way cheaper for everyone than having either proprietary memory for...

I feel like it has to be a pretty substantial game for something like this to get overseas, but then again, Natsume brings quite a few weird titles over. Maybe it'll work out.

That Granbule game for consoles looks really freaking good from that preview. Kinda like if you took Eternal Sonata's style and mixed it with Bayonetta's fighting system, just a little slower. I'm hoping their A team is on that, because we need an IP like this to exist and be great.

...and I'm hoping that the title will change in localization, because lol.

This week is stellar if you have a PS3. Those sales, and the Humble Bundle, they're mostly PS3, but if you've got it, then great.

I don't, so I'll go bawl in a corner right now.

It's like the author saw those articles about Suicide Squad's second-week drop and thought that applied to games. $60 one-purchase games that you don't have to go out and purchase again are extremely different when it comes to a second week, as good second-week box office performance means people are seeing your movie *again*.

Unless you're Myst or Minecraft or a really underhyped but great game (Demon's Souls for instance), sustained/growing sales will ...

It's been pretty highly rated by everyone I've read. It's just underplayed because it's only on the Vita. (They really need to put this on the PS4.)

This looks a bit like Marble Madness. I always wondered why the labyrinth/ball games just stopped being made after the PS1 era, maybe this will be good!

Wow. I appreciate the transparency in this review - he mentions the patch he installed alongside the glitches he encountered, so we're not left asking a bunch of questions about that. It looks like this will be a great game once/if that stuff is fixed, but I'd say the same about Fallout 4 and that thing never ever ran well on PS4. Here's hoping Eidos has an easier time fixing it.

Kojima's tweet was just "@Konami Stop." Which is perfect. Not very excited about Left4Rhino.

Patents like this are illustrated like crap on purpose - everything except what the patent is for needs to be super generic and nondescript. They're meant to describe one specific thing and give absolutely no indication of what a final designed product would look like, with the exception of maybe how it's plugged in. In this case, you'd probably see nothing like the controller you're seeing in practice.

This is why patent hype kinda sucks.

The patent described here, if implemented, would help a ton with what Nintendo usually wants to do, which is change up how hardware works while accommodating various forms of play.

Think back to early 3DS days when Kid Icarus came out. That game was such a wrist-stretching compromise because the 3DS wasn't built for what Sakurai wanted it to be. They even tried to make a stand. A stand! For a portable console! Just for that game! Soon enough they made the New 3DS, which...

That's a good thing. This game isn't trying to please anyone, it's a real singular vision, and it's really, really, really, really not for everyone. I'd say it's less for half the hardcore gamers out there than it would be for non-gamers, or phone-only gamers. It's first-person without being fast or competitive or setpiece-driven. It's a simulation but it's simple. It has an art style that is markedly non-realistic. It has a story but not much voice acting....

A petition. For what's ostensibly a giant roguelike that is not concerned with meeting the needs of multiplayer gamers, made with the vision of being a lone explorer in a vast, isolating universe, with a company whose CEO already said it wasn't a multiplayer game. A petition. Good luck with that.

However, I do hope the PC version is moddable for things like that. Maybe we'll wind up with something like JCMP.
