Mostly yes...? FF has had quite a few titles at this point, and some were remarkable for reasons that had nothing to do with a story. I mean, if you think back to something like FF5, that game was all about leveling up and acquiring jobs. Hardly anyone cared that the dude's name was Butz and the story was just meh. People continue to love FF12, despite the wonderful story jumping off a cliff about 2/3 of the way through and throwing you into the endgame without much fanfare. FFX2 might in...
fyi: this reviewer is Kat Bailey, she's really big into retro and current JRPGs and knows her stuff. They go on a star format, and 4 stars means a different thing than, say, 80%.
It's too concise and too safe.
So, there's this awesome games retrospective documentary series out called Noclip, and Danny O' Dwyer so far did a great job getting the full story of Rocket League's development, bumps and all. I wonder if, when all is said and done, he could get Sean to be candid with him about this whole thing and spill the beans as to why this all happened.
And I really mean when all is said and done - the more Sean says ...
I'm not sure we need to read too far into this. Zampella's comment seems like his kind of off-the-cuff humor, he wants to make sure people know he's not part of the strange corporate ladder that funds his games. What we know now is that there's some superior level design and attention to detail going on at Respawn, and whatever that results in next will be great.
I think they meant "locking in," not "locking down." This isn't a news article about Nintendo going further to lock down the system, they're trying to "lock in" deals.
Considering what they picked last year, I'd expect Uncharted 4 to win. It's a technical marvel. This old-school gamer loves both DOOM and Titanfall 2 way too much to want that to happen, though!
I'm really glad they picked TF2 over B1, though. I've played through both, and Titanfall 2 takes the cake. B1 *needs* to be recognized for sound design, that was excellent.
"We're trapped in a Beckett play." "This is a video game as written by James Joyce." "You're a murderer! A mass murderer of people's time! That said, good job." Hilarious!
I could see the 2DS especially being a really low-cost option for non-US countries and tiny kids, though. Like, outsource anything first-party, depend on some baby-ish games to come out, let it just be a toy for a while. The Switch will not be competing with it price-wise, at least.
I was okay with the vignette format, but Titanfall 2's campaign just got cooler and cooler as it went along, it definitely outshines BF1.
$250 is absolutely perfect for a new portable system you can upscale on the TV. If so, I'd bet there's a base package and a larger bundle with a pro controller and a game for $300.
If that's it, then just seal the deal on battery life and charging capabilities and I'm sold.
Argh. I was really hoping for HD Melee. Oh well... hopefully they'll fix the Brawl-inherited slowness of 4 with their next actual sequel.
Bakalar's a good dude and knows his tech. This is his take.
I mean, if you look at what's supported at launch, it's hard to tell because they're older games. Hopefully after launch it will be different!
I don't have a 4K TV, so I'm on the fence after reading up on the Digital Foundry article (and thank goodness they had a review before launch, I love those guys). Like, for example, my original PS4 has P.T. installed on there. If I trade it in (which I really would have to do to afford this), I don't think that transfers over to the Pro at that point, right?
EDIT: I did some searching. Ethernet cable transfer from PS4 to Pro? Does PT transfer that way?
...
EA screwed up, BUT wait until Game of the Year awards come in. We're gonna see a lot of Doom, a lot of Titanfall 2, and a lot of Uncharted 4 in there, and that should boost sales for TF2 in particular, because it's very multiplayer-focused and will most likely expand - and for free!
I think enough people love the single-player campaign that it warrants a DLC expansion too. I really hope so. I'm about halfway through it on Master and loving it.
This was a super helpful review! I'm about at the halfway mark of the campaign (on Master, so it's taking a while) and now I've got this strange mechanic to look forward to afterward. Also, anyone considering it - play this on Master to start. It works so well, every mission winds up being the kind of fast-moving combat puzzle I loved so much in the original Halo. When you can't make mistakes, the real strategy happens, and this game affords you with so many options that it...

Anyway, you have gotta be kidding me with this.
Bethesda is saying that despite having all this time to add new stuff into Skyrim, and charging out the wazoo for this new thing, they couldn't optimize it to run at 60 on the consoles ...
Huh. I think Holiday 2016 is kind of a wash for consoles. Sony has a VR system they're selling, and it's doing very well. The Pro's coming out kinda late, and until everyone has VR and/or 4K, I'm not sure they'll have a huge reason to sell every single Pro they produce. What's more likely is that base PS4 prices will drop and trigger more sales to people who have been on the fence or waiting for a price drop. Microsoft's big thing isn't until next year, and Nin...
I don't think anyone benefits from the Switch as much as Capcom, Monster Hunter was basically built for something like that.
Let's get real here. The reason SFV is continuing to do badly is because their six season one characters were garbage. It doesn't matter which character you bring back - they have to be enjoyable to play. Urien is *close*.
If it works for you, it's AMAZING stuff. I'd say go for it - but for the love of Kratos, keep the receipt and the packaging. Just in case your setup, lighting, etc. just isn't up to the task for that archaic tracking system no matter what you do, you may need to return it, like I did. I can't wait for a tracking upgrade to this; then I'm all in.
