I hope we actually see something. I'd rather not have it at all, thank have 10 seconds of bogus gameplay that you can't even make out.
No vaporware, just way it ain't even close to being a game yet. We'll see ...
I agree with everything you said re: storage pardigm shift. But, I just wasn't that impressed with Uncharted Graphics. They were really good. But I still have to give the overall graphic presentation crown to both Gears. On the PS3 side, every PS3 owner should own Valkyria Chronicles. In my book, Valkyria Chronicals and WipeoutHD are the most beautiful HD games with the Gears series being the most immersive.
Edit: MS knows Blu-ray is here to stay. Vista SP2 adds Blu-ray to live...
I seriously doubt 3 DVDs cost anywhere near what 1 Bluray costs. Having said that, I do think Microsoft's arrogance will hurt it if it doesn't adopt Bluray soon. I also think they can do so very quickly. Within days of deciding to do so they can have them coming off the production lines. They're already designed and ready to go. You're a fool if you don't think so.
Dark Knight and Wanted Bluray sales will have an impact. Microsoft holding out on Bluray is like Steve Jobs still ...
All the way around. Microsoft makes better products, competition spurs better products. Take Google Chrome. It's like getting a broadband upgrade its so fast, but, it's UI could use a little polish. Still a better product sure to make IE better.
Vista SP2 is looking good. A bit faster and quite stable with Bluray working great with the live file system.
Competition is good.
Matrix yes, reloaded and revolutions No. There's a reason they won't sell you only The Matrix. Selling the trilogy bundle only is truly making us buy something we don't want.
The Thing is awesome on Bluray, as is IronMan. Up Next: Dead Space (10/31), Sgt Osiris in Tropic Thunder (11/18), WANTED (12/2), and the big daddy Dark Knight (12/9).
I'll also be picking up Cool Hand Luke, Young Frankenstein, and Kill Bill 1 & 2.
Sony is in a good position. Th...
Hmmm.... Iron Man was the bomb. I avoided seeing it at the Theatre to see it at home in HD. It was worth the wait, as will Dark Knight on Dec 9.
With blockbusters being released, it has to have some impact on Microsoft that their users are out in the cold. Next up, Angelina Jolie's Wanted. That's a helluva combination, IronMan, Dark Knight, Wanted. Microsoft does want to give Xbox a Bluray. They just can't figure out the best way to do it. My bet, if it is going to happen, it w...
The thing is, it's 2 weeks heading into the Holiday Season. 2 weeks when this has never happened before. If you think this doesn't have Sony worried, think again. I'm not saying Microsoft can sustain this, but it is significant, like it or not.
Now worries, upgrading it is EZ Fosheezy ... another plust of the PS3.
Though, I'm not sure being "disc"-based equates to quality anymore. I can guarantee you after WipEout HD it won't. WHD may end up being this gens showcase title as far as sound, graphics, and speed goes.
Finally and anticipated game that lives up to the hype from start to finish; Are you listening Fable II?
This title being only $19.99 immediately puts PSN back in the game against Xbox Live! Though I think XBLA has a larger volume of good games (and I'm big on retro remakes), none rise to the level of quality or value of WipEout HD. And none will have me waiting for DLC like I'll be waiting for new Tracks, Ships, and hopefully Music Tracks for WipEout. This is why I made the deci...
I agree, and I think the ads work. Shows real people, which 95% of us are. Hmmm, kind of mirrors the historical marketshare 95/5.
Real people don't care about ads. Mac users, many of whom have superiority complexes and pay more for less, because Steve Jobs tells them they're getting more, react much more to ads that tell them what they want to hear than the rest of us, who evaluate the ins and outs of a product and then make our own decision.
Macs are prettier, and V...
HP's laying off about 13,000 workers to increase profits. They should all rethink their lives. While I agree, given the quality of Live! compared to PSN, the cost is quite reasonable, I also realize, not everyone has expendable cash, especially during these economic times.
September 25, Sony will have an announcement, WipEout HD is available on PSN. I'll read Microsoft's announcements at a later date :>
Prepare for WipEout HD to take its rightful place atop your list.
With a $199 machine, MS has to keep it as clean as possible for the kiddies. Let's face it, 1 out of every 2 adults online becomes a deviate in one way or another. Take UNO with the video cam, pervs are everywhere, I have no problem with keeping the names clean.
They should go to a strip club or San Francisco to get their freak on. No one should be forced to know the people are undercover Gimps, complete with red ball in the mouth.
I believe they only had to tone down "zone" mode, not anything in the main game.
At this point, no trophies, no buy for me.
As long as MS can hold their own without one, you won't see it. If PS3 begins to realize significant sales due to Bluray, MS has a design ready for production.
I know most don't agree, but for all intents and purposes you can forget about RRoD being a factor. MS had to pay for it, but as far as marketing, only those of us who pay attention to the gaming industry think about it much.
I sent back 4 XBoxes before I bought an Arcade (to get HDMI when I went HDTV). I haven't had a single problem with the new m/b and that was a while ago. People with older Xboxes are likely to have a problem at some point, but the new machines, I doubt there ...
My interest for a Killer Instinct game 100! I was planning on selling my Xbox 360 after I finish Gears 2 and going PS3 only since not it has most of the games I want to play and it's the better media machine (My Blu-ray collection has exploded). But, I'll have to keep the Xbox around for KI3 alone.
It has to be legit, it would be stupid for Rare to tease about it this much if it was vapor. As a matter of fact it would be suicide. Too bad it won't go cross-platform. I really wou...
