#1 modding your Xbox 360 voids the warranty. Non-hardcore users, will not do this. There are probably a rare few.
#2 Not aware of modded 360 making a significant dent in XBox sales. If they did, someone would be in court.
#3 The very word mod says hardcore-only to me.
#4 You can't play on Live! with a modded Xbox. So scratch all those folks. Yeah, some mods have a switch, but you just reduced the number of people willing to go through all that to s...
Don't you need a modded Xbox 360 to run it? If so, not many people have those. Only hardcore modders like some of the people here. Probably a negligible number. Capcom probably doesn't care that much at this point.
Now, if it can run on an un-modded 360 that's a different story.
Valkyria Chronicles rocks. It's accessible and you can be up and running in minutes. Because you can get into the game and enjoy it so quickly, I actually consider it casual. Also, very, very under-rated. It'll be in the bargain bin before it's time and everyone with a PS3 should pick it up if you dig strategy.
So, would you consider Killzone 2 hardcore?
Madden fanatics would consider themselves hardcore. I guess to really answer the question you have to agree upon the definition of hardcore vs casual.
What about Street Fighter and combo-based games? Hardcore or Casual?
Casual games are popular because they are better games. Face it, hardcore gaming means FPS. FPS' are all the same basically with different textures. That's why Gears with the cover system and 3rd person perspective seemed so fresh.
I mean I don't care how many pixels you throw at the screen, Donkey Kong is Donkey Kong. It's fun gameplay.
High Resolution graphics have made designers somewhat lazy and resolution often masks a lack of artistic talent. With today's h...
I have a PS3 but I bought a Sondy BDP-550 so my Onkyo 705 can do the decoding. PS3 can't bitstream until they upgrade the HDMI chip.
Have a BD-RE drive in my PC too. 25GB is a lot of extra space when using the Win7/Vista Live File System.
Anyone who thinks Bluray will fail is a silly rabbit.
Don't see the point of this story. If Gears ever comes to the PS3, the XBox 360 is dead. Nothing else will matter.
Looks like a more promising PS3 alternative to the Gears franchise than KillZone or Resistance. We'll see...
RE1 = Masterpiece
I said Chris, but I meant Leon. Not flinching is the problem. His character seemed lifeless most of the time. His best moments were when he got the hots for Angela, at least then he showed emotion.
IMO upscaling can't compare to native Blu-ray 1080p. People who think it does, probably don't have Blu-ray. What it is, is a great way to preserve old DVDs that may never be released on Blu-Ray. I have a lot of B-movies I love that will never go Blu. One that will be going Blu and I have pre-ordered is Point of No Return with Bridget Fonda. Before La Femme Nikita, there was Point of No Return. Now how about the campy BarbWire ... Pam Anderson's upscaled silicone has too many artifacts.
I watched it tonigh actually. Though it was great. Much better than any of the RE movies which to me weren't RE at all. The were horrid, beneath Uwe Bolle level. Milla's hot though, but I'd rather see here in Fifth Element for the 100th time.
The pacing was good and the animation was good. Not sure about the indian friends of Claire being gross. What was gross about them, that they were Indian or Claire's friends? What am I missing? The fact that they were there at the end to g...
Xbox 360 isn't in PS3's league. No HD Media format, No HD Audio formats. Case closed. This has to be the most uninformed article ever.
PS3 is a high-def beast. Xbox 360 has a high resolution display that can generate 1920x1280. That's about all the hi-def there is to the Xbox but High Definition entertainment is much more than that. Forget Dolby Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD, Xbox can't even do uncompressed audio - no HD media format to hold it.
I have an Xbox, l...
I was a die-hard Xbox 360 only, anti Sony/PS person. Now, I'm 90% PS3 Only and couldn't be happier. Watching Resident Evil: Degeneration tonight on Blu-ray, happy as hell Dead Rising is coming to PSN.
No one who has one would be dissapointed and Blu-ray is on the rise. It just costs too much, period. Especially during this economic downturn.
It's only weakness are lack of online community and it's communication capability is not up to Xbox Live! Voice message any...
I hated it, until I learned how to play, and how to apply the books to the proper weapons. The time sucked until you got good and learned all the tricks and found all the goodies. Going back after you master the mechanics and saving as many people as possible was really fun.
Some would say having to learn the mechanics of a game is a flaw, but in the end, fun is fun. I would like a better save game mechanism in Dead Rising 2.
Trophies Please!! This is one game I will definitely play through again on the PS3 platform. Makes sense given that Dead Rising 2 is coming to the Playstation 3.
Nice One! All that's missing now is Gears of War.
I mean, Wall-E has great tech specs, but #1, in the year of Dark Knight? What about LOST season #4? There are so many great Blu-Rays. Many of my old favorites are better than ever. It's really not the improved video, but the uncompressed or HD Audio that really makes the difference.
Blade Runner (Best Blu-ray Audio bar none)
Robocop
LOST Seasons 3 & 4
The Thing
Unforgiven
Predator
Kill Bill 1 & 2

Total Recall... You'll probably love the original Predator and Robocop. Also, give Replacement Killers a shot, Mira Sorvino is hot and the uncompressed audio is superb.
Just reading your post and all the workarounds for the non-existent roadblocks is making me tired. That's why it's not a big problem...
If you could download an ISO and play it on a non-modded Xbox, this would be a problem. I'd probably do it myself. As it is, it's not in my opinion.
